Guideline for Article Critique

1. Come up with a title. The title of the article should reflect the focus of your review and it
might be declarative, descriptive or interrogative title. Published during last

3. Cite the article. Adequately cite the article following proper format and style (APA)
4. Identify the article. Review the article via properly referring the title of the article,
authors of the article, the title of the journal, and the year of the publication in the first
paragraph of your review.
5. Write the introduction.
This section has to address the identification sentence, central themes of the article,
argument and claim of the author and author’s thesis. Sometimes the thesis has multiple
points and not be stated clearly, so that you may have to determines the thesis in yourself.
As academician, don’t make statements in the first person ("I"), rather give an overall
impression of the article using the third person and a formal, academic style. Your
introduction should only be 10-25% of your review. For example: Although the author
has some good points, his article is biased and contains some misinterpretation of data
from others’ analysis of the effectiveness of the condom.
6. Summarize the article. Elucidate the main points, arguments, and findings of the article
in your own words. Show how the article supports its claims and include the article's
conclusions. In this case don't cover specific examples, statistics, or background
information familiar to experts in the field rather capture the main points of each section
via direct quotes from the author. To be a good reviewer of the article and to ensure that
your language is accurately describing author’s article read over your summary again and
again.
7. Write your critique. In this part, you need to address your opinion about whether the
article was a clear, thorough, and useful explanation of the subject, evaluate the article's
contribution to the field, evaluate the main points and arguments in the article, decide if
the author's points help his/her argument, identify any biases, explain your agreement and
dissonance via sufficient supports. Don't fill your review with a long list of unrelated
critiques and relate your agreement and dissonance together into a coherent argument.

8. Conclude the article review. This section should only be about 10% of the overall essay.
In this section the reviewers has to summarize the main points of the article, reflect
his/her opinion about the significance, accuracy, clarity and relevance of the article.
Moreover, he/she can suggest the implication of this article for further research.
9. Proofread. To make the review is more clear and attract the heartbeat of the reader, you
should reread the review, check for language, mechanics, and usage mistakes and avoid
any irrelevant information in included.

Dear student as you are Postgraduate students of project management science, to capture the
real experience/practice of organizational behaviour in the nearby
companies/firms/organization conducting organizational visit is mandatory. So as to realize
the course objective, you are request to select an organization and conduct organizational
analysis and write a report on the bases of the following guidelines:

Title pages: includes name of the organization, location of the organization, Types of
firms/organization, name of the group members, date of visit etc.
