NARRATIVE REPORT
DepEd Order (DO) No. 014, s. 2023 titled Policy Guidelines on the
Implementation of the National Learning Camp (NLC), addresses literacy and
numeracy needs in Grades 1 to 3, focusing on enhancing the skills like reading,
comprehension, critical thinking, mathematical concepts, processes and solving
problems.
It aims to provide early intervention and support to prevent literacy and
numeracy difficulties and equip students with essential skills for future learning.
Its framework includes three camps: intervention, consolidation, and
enhancement, tailored to address students’ diverse learning profiles.
It ensures comprehensive support for students at different stages of literacy and
numeracy development, promoting equitable access to high-quality instruction.
Dulag North District conducted the National Learning Camp district roll out last
March 28, 2024 at San Jose Central School Conference room to 52 teacher
volunteers and 14 school heads.
The opening program started at 8:15 in the morning with a prayer followed by
the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, the DEPED Hymn, the Dulag
Hymn, welcome message of the central school principal, Mrs. Ma. Cristina A.
Servando, checking of attendance and the inspirational message of the district
head, Mrs. Glenda A. Jo.
The two facilitators namely: Mrs. Eva S. Noblejas and Mrs. Rosalia A Sabado
take turns in discussing the topics about NLC Context & Implementation Areas to
improved and Walkthrough of the Lesson Format & Design in Literacy and
Numeracy. Then, a demo lesson on Literacy and Numeracy by Mrs. Julie Ann C.
Abug was shown after the discussions.
In the Open Forum, there were queries about the classroom setting of the NLC,
the number of participants in each camp and the materials to be used in each
camp.
After the lunch break, the topic on the Collaborative Expertise Planning and
Preparation was discussed, then the return demo of some participants and the
last topic was the video presentation of the collaborative expertise review.
The NLC district roll out was ended after the distribution of certificates to
participants at 4:00 in the afternoon.
Lastly, the NLC district roll out of Dulag North District was successful.
