Roxar Software Support is also available via the Roxar Software Portal, which allows you to
submit new support cases, review old cases, access our technical knowledge
Portal base, register for training courses and update your profile. It also enables
system administrators to download software versions.

Launching Your installation of Tempest will comprise one, or more, of the 5 modules:
Tempest • ENABLE
• MORE
• VIEW
• PVTx
• VENTURE
Depending on the configuration, you will have one or two desktop icons
from which to launch Tempest.
The Tempest VIEW icon will be present with all installations and should be
launched if you are to use VIEW, MORE, PVTx or VENTURE (or any
combination of these).
The Tempest ENABLE icon will be present only if your license includes
Tempest ENABLE. Tempest ENABLE should be launched if you wish to run
ENABLE. Tempest VIEW will be opened automatically as the user interface,
from which you will also be able to run MORE, PVTx and VENTURE.

Project All Tempest (.tprj) projects, are readable in version 7. On loading a pre
version 7 project into Tempest 7, customers should preserve the old project
Compatibility and save the new project as a new .tprj file.
Given the new functionality in version 7, backwards compatibility to 6.7 is
not guaranteed.
In most cases, ENABLE 2.4 xml projects can be loaded directly into Tempest
7. In some cases, intervention may be required. Please contact support if you
require assistance in project loading.
Your version 7 license will allow access to ENABLE versions 2.4 and 2.3.

Training

Tempest VIEW A set of video tutorials has been created for Tempest VIEW to allow you to
self train.
These are available in the Roxar Software Portal training section, and also
via the programme installation:
installation_folder/simulation/videos/v7.0/view

Tempest ENABLE A set of printed tutorials, along with project datasets, is available via the
programme installation:
installation_folder/tutorials/enable/v7.0

The tutorials cover the following topics:

• History Matching & Prediction using ECLIPSE
• History Matching & Prediction using MORE
• Optimisation of well locations using ECLIPSE
• Optimisation of well locations using MORE

Introduction Tempest 7.0.1 is a maintenance release of Tempest 7 including the following
modules:
• ENABLE
• MORE
• VIEW
• PVTx
• VENTURE
In addition to numerous fixes, this version contains the following changes
and enhancements for the listed modules compared with version 7.0.0.

Tempest ENABLE • Modifiers can be deleted or renamed

• The modifier display now shows all attributes in a table view
• Command line parameters can be set up from, and are stored in, the
ENABLE project. This allows easy specification of the number of
processors for a MORE run.
• Project load times for ECLIPSE examples are faster
• Improved project information on the General tab and tooltip
• Allow unordered observed data
• Commands to export and query the proxy model added

Tempest MORE • Component level tracers and ability to set tracers above and below the
fluid contacts

Introduction Tempest 7.0.2 is a maintenance release of Tempest 7 including the following
modules:
• ENABLE
• MORE

It is recommended that all clients upgrade to this Tempest 7.0.2 version.
In addition to numerous fixes, this version contains the following changes
and enhancements for the listed modules compared with version 7.0.1.

Tempest ENABLE • Improvements in robustness when creating a new dataset from scratch
with no ENABLE header
• Reduced memory usage for large numbers of runs with large include
files
• Greatly improved summary calculator performance
• Matching on RFT data when data not monotonic in depth is now
possible
• Improved performance when making multiple rapid changes
• Non-linear scaling applied to quality slider - increases sensitivity in
region of interest
• Quality filter on graph can filter on quality of displayed vector
