Abstract

Abstract This research examines the awareness of cybercrimes among

senior high school students at ACLC College of Tacloban, focusing on their

understanding of various online risks, where they get their information, and their

overall knowledge levels. Given the pervasive use of the internet in daily life,

comprehending cyber threats is crucial for protecting individuals from potential

dangers. Based on a quantitative descriptive study involving 344 students, the

findings indicate that while students generally identify common cybercrimes such

as cyberbullying and identity theft, there are gaps in their awareness of lesser-

known threats and effective preventive measures. Social media plays a significant

role in how students perceive and behave online, serving as a primary source of

information on cybercrimes. These findings emphasize the importance of targeted

educational efforts to improve students' understanding of cybercrimes, enabling

them to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly
