Waterproofing primer in water dispersion
WHERE TO USE
To waterproof:
· gypsum-board and timber boarded walls;
· gypsum plaster and cement-based renders for ceramic tiles.
Some application examples
· Bath and shower walls in gypsumboard;
· timber boards for walls provided they are firmly secured;
· gypsum walls for kitchens, especially in cooking areas;
· preparation of anhydrite screeds before fixing ceramic tiles with cement-based adhesives.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Primer S is a water dispersion of a synthetic resin which forms a film after drying that is resistant to water, elastic,
compact and unaffected by weather, creating a perfectly waterproof barrier.
Primer S is not inflammable or dangerous; it can therefore be used even in closed environments and without taking
special precautions.
RECOMMENDATIONS
· Do not use Primer S for waterproofing swimming-pools and tanks);
· do not use Primer S to block rising damp from the substrate;
· do not use Primer S to waterproof floors in baths and showers;
· on very alkaline substrates, Primer S may become darker without losing its characteristics.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Preparing the substrate
The substrate must be dry and clean, free of oil, grease, paint residue, loose plaster and laitance.
For wall installations in gypsum-board and wood, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
For wood in particular, make sure the wood is firmly secured to avoid warping.
Applying the primer
Apply Primer S with brush or roller.
For best results in waterproofing, 2 to 3 coats are necessary, each one applied while the preceding coat is still sticky.
Wait approx. 1-2 hours until completely dry, before fixing tiles.
Cleaning
Tools and containers should be cleaned immediately with clean water.
Dry residues can be mechanically removed or cleaned with Pulicol.
COVERAGE
Coverage with Primer S is approx. 0.1 kg/m² per coat.
PACKAGING
Primer S is available in 5 kg and 1 kg drums.
STORAGE
12 months in orginal unopened packaging.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARATION AND APPLICATION
Primer S is not hazardous according to the standards on the classification of mixtures. It is recommended to wear
protective gloves and goggles and to take the usual precautions for handling chemical products.
