‘I’ve been playing basketball since I was 12
and I trained in the school gym every evening __________________________________

go. Then, five years ago, my parents got me a
VR headset for my birthday. It’s incredible –
now I can decide when and where I practise.
VR allows me to take part in competitive
games and I can also practise scoring difficult
points from different positions. I’m able to
record my sessions so I can look at them
again and learn from my mistakes. I’ll be
finishing school in June, and next year I’ll try to
join a basketball club at university. I’m
definitely looking forward to playing on a real
basketball court. And thanks to VR training, I’ll
be able to do that.’

Mehmet, 19, golf player

‘I’ve always loved golf, and used to watch all of
the tournaments on TV. But there is no golf
course where I come from and it was too
expensive to travel anywhere. So, I used to
play it by myself in my parents’ garden. It
wasn’t so much fun – my brother hated golf so
he refused to join me. I’d always wanted to
become a professional so I started to use VR.
It helped me gain so much experience, for
example, how to hit the ball properly, how to
deal with difficult situations and – most
importantly – how to be competitive with
talented players. When I finished school, I
applied to go to a golf academy. I had to
compete against other applicants, and all my
VR experience helped me succeed. I’ll soon
be going into my second year there. It’s my
goal to take part in famous golf tournaments
one day soon.’
