29:1 ‫ּבּׁשָ נָה‬

ַ ‫ירית‬
ִ ‫ֲׂש‬
ִ ‫ָהע‬ ‫ֲׂש ִרי‬
ִ ‫ָּבע‬ ‫ִּב ְׁשנֵים‬ ‫לַ ח ֶֹדׁש עָ ׂשָ ר‬ ‫ָהיָה‬ ‫ְד ַבר‬ ‫יְ הוָה ־‬

. In the tenth year, in the
b·shne e·oshirith b·oshri b·shnim oshr l·chdsh eie dbr - ieue tenth [month], in the twelfth
in·the·year the·tenth in·the·tenth in·two ten to·the·month he-becomes word-of Yahweh [day] of the month, the
word of the LORD came
‫אֵ לַ י‬ ‫לֵ אמֹר‬ : unto me, saying,

ֶ ‫אָ ָדם ־‬ ‫ִׂשים‬ ‫ּפָ נֶי‬ ‫ּפַ ְרעֹ ה ־ עַ ל‬ ֶ‫ֶמל‬ ‫ִמ ְצ ָריִ ם‬ ‫ָבא‬
ֵ ‫ְו ִהּנ‬

Son of man, set thy face
bn - adm shim phni·k ol - phroe mlk mtzrim u·enba against Pharaoh king of
son-of human place-you ! faces-of·you on Pharaoh king-of Egypt and·nprophesy-you ! Egypt, and prophesy against
him, and against all Egypt:
‫עָ לָ יו‬ ‫ְועַ ל‬ ‫ִמ ְצ ַריִ ם ־‬ ‫ּכֻ ּלָ ּה‬ :

ֲ ‫הוה‬
ִ ְ‫י‬ ‫ִהנְ נִ י‬ ‫עָ לֶ י‬ ‫ּפַ ְרעֹ ה‬ ֶ‫ֶמל‬ ‫־‬

Speak, and say, Thus saith

mspeak-you ! and·you-say thus he-says my-Lord Yahweh behold·me ! on·you Pharaoh king-of [am] against thee, Pharaoh

‫ִמ ְצ ַריִ ם‬ ‫ַה ַּתּנִ ים‬ ‫ַהּגָד)ל‬ ‫ר ֵבץ‬
ֹ ‫ָה‬ )‫ְּבת‬ ‫יְ א ָֹריו‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫אָ ַמר‬ ‫ִלי‬ dragon that lieth in the
midst of his rivers, which

hath said, My river [is]
Egypt the·monster the·great the·one-reclining in·midst-of waterways-of·him which he-says to·me
mine own, and I have made
[it] for myself.

But I will put hooks in thy

and·I-give gaffs gaffs in·cheeks-of·you and·I-cause-to-cling fish-of fish of thy rivers to stick
unto thy scales, and I will
‫יְ א ֶֹרי‬ ‫ְּב ַק ְׂש ְק ֹׂש ֶתי‬ ‫יתי‬
ִ ‫ְו ַהע ֲִל‬ )‫ִמּת‬ ‫יְ א ֶֹרי‬ ‫ְואֵ ת‬ bring thee up out of the
midst of thy rivers, and all

the fish of thy rivers shall
waterways-of·you in·scales-of·you and·I-cbring-up·you from·midst-of waterways-of·you and·»
stick unto thy scales.
‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫ְּדגַת ־‬ ‫יְ א ֶֹרי‬ ‫ְּב ַק ְׂש ְק ֹׂש ֶתי‬ ‫ִּת ְד ָּבק‬ :

all-of fish-of waterways-of·you in·scales-of·you she-shall-cling

29:5 ‫ׁש ִּתי‬

ְ ַ‫ּונְ ט‬ ‫ַה ִּמ ְד ָּב ָרה‬ ‫א)ת‬
ְ ‫ְואֵ ת‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫ְּדגַת ־‬ ‫יְ א ֶֹרי‬ ‫־ עַ ל‬

And I will leave thee
u·ntshthi·k e·mdbr·e auth·k u·ath kl - dgth iari·k ol - [thrown] into the
and·I-abandon·you the·wilderness·ward »·you and·» all-of fish-of waterways-of·you on wilderness, thee and all the
fish of thy rivers: thou shalt
‫ְּפנֵי‬ ‫ַהּׂשָ ֶדה‬ ‫ִּתּפ)ל‬ ‫ל ֹא‬ ‫ֵתאָ ֵסף‬ ‫ְול ֹא‬ ‫ִת ָּק ֵבץ‬ fall upon the open fields;
thou shalt not be brought

together, nor gathered: I
surfaces-of the·field you-shall-fall not you-shall-be-gathered and·not you-shall-be-convened
have given thee for meat to
the beasts of the field and to
‫ְל ַחּיַת‬ ‫ָהאָ ֶרץ‬ ‫ּולע)ף‬
ְ ‫ַהּׁשָ ַמיִ ם‬ ‫נְ ַת ִּתי‬ ‫ְלאָ ְכלָ ה‬ : the fowls of the heaven.

to·animal-of the·land and·to·flyer-of the·heavens I-give·you for·food

29:6 ‫ְוי ְָדעּו‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫ֹׁש ֵבי ־‬

ְ ‫י‬ ‫ִמ ְצ ַריִ ם‬ ‫ִּכי‬ ‫אֲנִ י‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ ‫יַעַ ן‬ ‫י)תם‬
ָ ‫ה‬ ֱ

And all the inhabitants of

and·they-know all-of ones-dwelling-of Egypt that I Yahweh because to-become-of·them [am] the LORD, because
they have been a staff of
‫ִמ ְׁשעֶ נֶת‬ ‫ָקנֶה‬ ‫ְל ֵבית‬ ‫ יִ ְׂש ָראֵ ל‬: reed to the house of Israel.

ְ ‫עָ לֶ י‬ ‫ִּתּׁשָ ֵבר‬ leaned upon thee, thou
brakest, and madest all their

loins to be at a stand.
and·you-rend for·them every-of shoulder and·in·to-nlean-of·them on·you you-are-being-broken

ַ ‫ְו ַהע‬ ‫לָ ֶהם‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫ ָמ ְתנָיִ ם ־‬: ‫ס‬

29:8 ‫לָ כֵ ן‬ ‫ּכֹה‬ ‫אָ ַמר‬ ‫דנָי‬

ִ ְ‫י‬ ‫ִהנְ נִ י‬ ‫ֵמ ִביא‬ ִ‫עָ לַ י‬ ‫ָח ֶרב‬ ‫ְו ִה ְכ ַר ִּתי‬

. Therefore thus saith the

ָ ְ‫ְו ָהי‬ ‫אֶ ֶרץ‬ ‫ִמ ְצ ַריִ ם ־‬ ‫ִל ְׁש ָמ ָמה‬ ‫ְו ָח ְר ָּבה‬ ‫ְוי ְָדעּו‬ ‫ִּכי‬ ‫אֲנִ י ־‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬

And the land of Egypt
u·eithe artz - mtzrim l·shmme u·chrbe u·idou ki - ani ieue shall be desolate and waste;
and·she-becomes land-of Egypt to·desolation and·desertion and·they-know that I Yahweh and they shall know that I
[am] the LORD: because he
‫יַעַ ן‬ ‫אָ ַמר‬ ‫יְ אֹר‬ ‫ִלי‬ ‫ַואֲנִ י‬ ‫יתי‬
ִ ‫עָ ִׂש‬ : hath said, The river [is]
mine, and I have made [it].

29:10 ‫לָ כֵ ן‬ ‫ִהנְ נִ י‬ ‫אֵ לֶ י‬ ‫ְואֶ ל‬ ‫יְ א ֶֹרי ־‬ ‫ְונ ַָת ִּתי‬ ‫אֶ ֶרץ ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫ִמ ְצ ַריִ ם‬

Behold, therefore I [am]

therefore behold·me ! to·you and·to waterways-of·you and·I-give » land-of Egypt rivers, and I will make the
land of Egypt utterly waste
‫ְל ָח ְרב)ת‬ ‫ח ֶֹרב‬ ‫ְׁש ָמ ָמה‬ ‫ִמ ִּמגְ ּדֹל‬ ‫ְס ֵונֵה‬ ‫ְועַ ד‬ ‫ּגְ בּול ־‬ ‫ ּכּוׁש‬: [and] desolate, from the
tower of Syene even unto

the border of Ethiopia.

29:11 ‫ל ֹא‬ ‫ֲבר‬

ָ ‫ַתע‬ ‫ָּבּה ־‬ ‫ֶרגֶל‬ ‫אָ ָדם‬ ‫ְו ֶרגֶל‬ ‫ל ֹא ְּב ֵה ָמה‬ ‫ֲבר‬
ָ ‫ַתע‬ ‫ָּבּה ־‬

No foot of man shall

not she-shall-pass in·her foot-of human and·foot-of beast not she-shall-pass in·her beast shall pass through it,
neither shall it be inhabited
‫ְול ֹא‬ ‫ֵתׁשֵ ב‬ ‫ ׁשָ נָה אַ ְר ָּב ִעים‬: forty years.

And I will make the land

laid waste shall be desolate

forty years: and I will

29:13 ‫ִּכי‬ ‫ּכֹה‬ ‫אָ ַמר‬ ‫דנָי‬

ֲ ‫הוה‬
ִ ְ‫י‬ ‫ִמ ֵּקץ‬ ‫ׁשָ נָה אַ ְר ָּב ִעים‬ ‫א ֲַק ֵּבץ‬ ‫ִמ ְצ ַריִ ם ־ אֶ ת‬

Yet thus saith the Lord
ki ke amr adni ieue m·qtz arboim shne aqbtz ath - mtzrim GOD; At the end of forty
that thus he-says my-Lord Yahweh from·end-of forty year I-shall-mconvene » Egyptians years will I gather the
Egyptians from the people
‫ִמן‬ ‫ָהעַ ִּמים ־‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ָנפֹצּו ־‬ ‫ׁשָ ָּמה‬ : whither they were scattered:

ִ ‫ַוה‬ ‫ֹתם‬
ָ ‫א‬ ‫אֶ ֶרץ‬ ‫ּפַ ְתר)ס‬ ‫אֶ ֶרץ ־ עַ ל‬

And I will bring again

and·I-reverse » captivity-of Egypt and·I-crestore »·them land-of Pathros on land-of will cause them to return
[into] the land of Pathros,
‫כּור ָתם‬
ָ ‫ְמ‬ ‫ְו ָהיּו‬ ‫ׁשָ ם‬ ‫ַמ ְמלָ כָ ה‬ ‫ ְׁשפָ לָ ה‬: into the land of their
habitation; and they shall be

there a base kingdom.

29:15 ‫ִמן‬ ‫ַה ַּמ ְמלָ כ)ת ־‬ ‫ִּת ְהיֶה‬ ‫ְׁשפָ לָ ה‬ ‫ְול ֹא‬ ‫ִת ְתנַּׂשֵ א ־‬ ‫ע)ד‬ ‫עַ ל‬ ‫־‬

It shall be the basest of

from the·kingdoms she-shall-become low and·not she-shall-lift-herself further over it exalt itself any more
above the nations: for I will
‫ַהּג)יִ ם‬ ‫ְו ִה ְמעַ ְט ִּתים‬ ‫ְל ִב ְל ִּתי‬ ‫ְרד)ת‬ ‫ַּבּג)יִ ם‬ : diminish them, that they
shall no more rule over the
e·guim u·emotthi·m l·blthi rduth b·guim :
nations.

29:16 ‫ְול ֹא‬ ‫יִ ְהיֶה‬ ‫ע)ד ־‬ ‫ְל ֵבית‬ ‫יִ ְׂש ָראֵ ל‬ ‫ְל ִמ ְבטָ ח‬ ‫ַמזְ ִּכיר‬ ‫עָ )ן‬

And it shall be no more
u·la ieie - oud l·bith ishral l·mbtch mzkir oun the confidence of the house
and·not he-shall-become further to·house-of Israel to·trust one-creminding-of depravity of Israel, which bringeth
[their] iniquity to
‫נ)תם‬
ָ ‫ִּב ְפ‬ ‫יהם‬
ֶ ‫אַ ח ֲֵר‬ ‫ְוי ְָדעּו‬ ‫ִּכי‬ ‫אֲנִ י‬ ‫דנָי‬
ֹ ‫א‬
ֲ ‫הוה‬
ִ ְ‫י‬ : ‫פ‬ remembrance, when they
shall look after them: but

they shall know that I [am]
in·to-face-about-of·them after·them and·they-know that I Lords Yahweh
the Lord GOD.
29:17 ‫וַיְ ִהי‬ ‫ְּבעֶ ְׂש ִרים‬ ‫וָׁשֶ ַבע‬ ‫ׁשָ נָה‬ ‫ָּב ִראׁש)ן‬ ‫ְּבאֶ ָחד‬ ‫לַ ח ֶֹדׁש‬ ‫ָהיָה‬

. And it came to pass in

‫ְד ַבר‬ ‫יְ הוָה ־‬ ‫אֵ לַ י‬ ‫לֵ אמֹר‬ : the word of the LORD
came unto me, saying,

Nebuchadrezzar king of
‫ָּב ֶבל‬ ‫אֶ ֶרץ ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫ִמ ְצ ָריִ ם‬ ‫ְונָׂשָ א‬ ‫מנָּה‬
ֹ ‫ה‬
ֲ ‫ְוׁשָ לַ ל‬ ‫ְׁשלָ לָ ּה‬ Babylon; and he shall take
her multitude, and take her

spoil, and take her prey; and

it shall be the wages for his

and·he-plunders plunder-of·her and·she-becomes hire for·army-of·him

29:20 )‫ְּפעֻ ּלָ ת‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫עָ ַבד ־‬ ‫ָּבּה‬ ‫נ ַָת ִּתי‬ )‫ל‬ ‫אֶ ֶרץ ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫ִמ ְצ ָריִ ם‬ ‫אֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫עָ ׂשּו‬

I have given him the land
pholth·u ashr - obd b·e nththi l·u ath - artz mtzrim ashr oshu of Egypt [for] his labour
wage-of·him which he-served in·her I-give to·him » land-of Egypt which they-did wherewith he served against
it, because they wrought for

ֲ ‫הוה‬
ִ ְ‫י‬ : ‫ס‬ me, saith the Lord GOD.

In that day will I cause
b·ium e·eua atzmich qrn l·bith ishral u·l·k athn the horn of the house of
in·the·day the·he I-shall-cmake-sprout horn for·house-of Israel and·to·you I-shall-give Israel to bud forth, and I
will give thee the opening
‫ִּפ ְתח)ן‬ ‫ּפֶ ה ־‬ ‫ְּבת)כָ ם‬ ‫ְוי ְָדעּו‬ ‫ִּכי‬ ‫אֲנִ י ־‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ : ‫פ‬ of the mouth in the midst of
them; and they shall know
phthchun - phe b·thuk·m u·idou ki - ani ieue : p
that I [am] the LORD.
