ִ ‫ֶבן‬ ‫ּגְ ַד ְליָה ־‬ ‫ֶּבן‬ ‫־‬

. The word of the LORD

ַ ‫א‬ ‫ֶּבן‬ ‫ִחזְ ִקּיָה ־‬ ‫ימי‬
ֵ ‫ִּב‬ ‫ֹאׁשּיָהּו‬
ִ ‫י‬ ‫ֶבן‬ ‫ֶמלֶ " אָ מ!ן ־‬ ‫הּודה‬
ָ ְ‫ י‬: Amariah, the son of
Hizkiah, in the days of
amrie bn - chzqie b·imi iashieu bn - amun mlk ieude :
Josiah the son of Amon,
Amariah son-of Hezekiah in·days-of Josiah son-of Amon king-of Judah
king of Judah.
1:2 ‫אָ סֹף‬ ‫אָ ֵסף‬ ‫ּכֹל‬ ‫ֵמעַ ל‬ ‫ְּפנֵי‬ ‫ָהא ֲָד ָמה‬ ‫נְ אֻ ם‬ ‫יְ הוָה ־‬ :

I will utterly consume all

to-terminate I-shall-cterminate all from·on surfaces-of the·ground averment-of Yahweh saith the LORD.

1:3 ‫אָ ֵסף‬ ‫אָ ָדם‬ ‫ּוב ֵה ָמה‬

ְ ‫אָ ֵסף‬ ‫ע!ף‬ ‫ַהּׁשָ ַמיִ ם ־‬ ‫ּודגֵי‬

I will consume man and

I-shall-cterminate human and·beast I-shall-cterminate flyer-of the·heavens and·fishes-of fowls of the heaven, and the
fishes of the sea, and the
‫ַהּיָם‬ ‫ְו ַה ַּמ ְכׁשֵ ל!ת‬ ‫אֶ ת‬ ‫ָה ְרׁשָ ִעים ־‬ ‫ְו ִה ְכ ַר ִּתי‬ ‫ָהאָ ָדם ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫ֵמעַ ל‬ stumblingblocks with the
wicked; and I will cut off

man from off the land, saith
the·sea and·the·stumbling-blocks with the·wicked-ones and·I-ccut-off » the·human from·on
the LORD.
‫ְּפנֵי‬ ‫ָהא ֲָד ָמה‬ ‫נְ אֻ ם‬ ‫יְ הוָה ־‬ :

ִ ‫ְונ ִָט‬ ‫י ִָדי‬ ‫עַ ל‬ ‫הּודה ־‬
ָ ְ‫ְועַ ל י‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫י!ׁש ֵבי ־‬
ְ ‫יְ רּוׁשָ לָ ִם‬

I will also stretch out mine

and·I-stretch-out hand-of·me over Judah and·over all-of ones-dwelling-of Jerusalem all the inhabitants of
Jerusalem; and I will cut off
‫ְו ִה ְכ ַר ִּתי‬ ‫ִמן‬ ‫ַה ָּמק!ם ־‬ ‫ַהּזֶה‬ ‫ְׁשאָ ר ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫ַה ַּבעַ ל‬ ‫ׁשֵ ם ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫ַה ְּכ ָמ ִרים‬ the remnant of Baal from
this place, [and] the name of
u·ekrthi mn - e·mqum e·ze ath - shar e·bol ath - shm e·kmrim
the Chemarims with the
and·I-ccut-off from the·placeri the·this » remnant-of the·Baal » name-of the·dervishes
priests;

1:5 ‫ְואֶ ת‬ ‫ח ִוים ־‬

ֲ ‫ַה ִּמ ְׁש ַּת‬ ‫ַהּגַּג!ת ־ עַ ל‬ ‫ִל ְצ ָבא‬ ‫ַהּׁשָ ָמיִ ם‬ ‫ְואֶ ת‬ ‫־‬

And them that worship the
u·ath - e·mshthchuim ol - e·gguth l·tzba e·shmim u·ath - host of heaven upon the
and·» the·ones-sbowing-down on the·housetops to·host-of the·heavens and·» housetops; and them that
worship [and] that swear by
‫ח ִוים‬
ֲ ‫ַה ִּמ ְׁש ַּת‬ ‫ַהּנִ ְׁש ָּב ִעים‬ ‫לַ יהוָה‬ ‫ְו ַהּנִ ְׁש ָּב ִעים‬ ‫ְּב ַמ ְלּכָ ם‬ : the LORD, and that swear
by Malcham;

1:6 ‫ְואֶ ת‬ ‫ַהּנְ ס!גִ ים ־‬ ‫ֵמאַ ח ֲֵרי‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ ‫ַואֲׁשֶ ר‬ ‫ִב ְקׁשּו ־ ל ֹא‬ ‫יְ הוָה ־ אֶ ת‬

And them that are turned

and·» the·ones-being-turned-away from·after Yahweh and·who not they-mseek » Yahweh [those] that have not sought
the LORD, nor enquired for
‫ְול ֹא‬ ‫ְד ָרׁשֻ הּו‬ : him.

ִ ְ‫י‬ ‫ִּכי‬ ‫י!ם ָקר!ב‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ ‫ִּכי‬ ‫ֵה ִכין ־‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬

. Hold thy peace at the

be-quelled ! from·faces-of my-Lord Yahweh that near day-of Yahweh that he-cprepares Yahweh for the day of the LORD
[is] at hand: for the LORD

And it shall come to pass

and·he-becomes in·day-of sacrifice-of Yahweh and·I-visit on the·chiefs and·on sons-of sacrifice, that I will punish
the princes, and the king's
" ֶ‫ַה ֶּמל‬ ‫ְועַ ל‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫ב ִׁשים ־‬4
ְ ‫ַה‬ ‫ַמ ְלּבּוׁש‬ ‫נ ְָכ ִרי‬ : children, and all such as are
clothed with strange

apparel.

1:9 ‫ּופָ ַק ְד ִּתי‬ ‫ּכָ ל עַ ל‬ ‫ַהּד!לֵ ג ־‬ ‫עַ ל‬ ‫ַה ִּמ ְפ ָּתן ־‬ ‫ַּבּי!ם‬ ‫ַההּוא‬ ‫ַה ְמ ַמ ְל ִאים‬

In the same day also will I
u·phqdthi ol kl - e·dulg ol - e·mphthn b·ium e·eua e·mmlaim punish all those that leap on
and·I-visit on every-of the·one-leaping over the·sill in·the·day the·he the·ones-mfilling the threshold, which fill
their masters'houses with
‫ֵּבית‬ ‫ֵיהם‬
ֶ ‫דנ‬ֹ ‫א‬
ֲ ‫ָח ָמס‬ ‫ּומ ְר ָמה‬
ִ : ‫ס‬ violence and deceit.

1:10 ‫היָה‬
ָ ‫ְו‬ ‫ַבּי!ם‬ ‫ַההּוא‬ ‫נְ אֻ ם‬ ‫יְ הוָה ־‬ ‫ק!ל‬ ‫ִמּׁשַ עַ ר ְצעָ ָקה‬ ‫ַה ָּדגִ ים‬

And it shall come to pass
u·eie b·ium e·eua nam - ieue qul tzoqe m·shor e·dgim in that day, saith the LORD,
and·he-becomes in·the·day the·he averment-of Yahweh sound-of cry from·gate-of the·fishes [that there shall be] the
noise of a cry from the fish
‫ִוילָ לָ ה‬ ‫ִמן‬ ‫ַה ִּמ ְׁשנֶה ־‬ ‫ְוׁשֶ ֶבר‬ ‫ּגָד!ל‬ ‫ֵמ ַהּגְ ָבע!ת‬ : gate, and an howling from
the second, and a great

crashing from the hills.
and·howling from the·second-quarter and·breaking great from·the·hills

1:11 ‫ילילּו‬
ִ ‫ֵה‬ ‫ֹׁש ֵבי‬
ְ ‫י‬ ‫ַה ַּמ ְכ ֵּתׁש‬ ‫ִּכי‬ ‫נִ ְד ָמה‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫עַ ם ־‬

Howl, ye inhabitants of
eililu ishbi e·mkthsh ki ndme kl - om Maktesh, for all the
chowl-you(p) ! ones-dwelling-of the·mortar-shaped-hole that he-is-stilled all-of people-of merchant people are cut
down; all they that bear
‫ְּכנַעַ ן‬ ‫נִ ְכ ְרתּו‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫נְ ִטילֵ י ־‬ ‫כָ ֶסף‬ : silver are cut off.

Canaan they-are-cut-off all-of transporters-of silver

1:12 ‫היָה‬
ָ ‫ְו‬ ‫ָּבעֵ ת‬ ‫ַה ִהיא‬ ‫ֲחּפֵ ׂש‬
ַ ‫א‬ ‫יְ רּוׁשָ לַ ִם ־ אֶ ת‬ ‫ַּבּנֵר!ת‬ ‫ּופָ ַק ְד ִּתי‬

And it shall come to pass

candles, and punish the men
‫אנ ִָׁשים ־ עַ ל‬
ֲ ‫ָה‬ ‫ַהּק ְֹפ ִאים‬ ‫יהם ־ עַ ל‬
ֶ ‫ִׁש ְמ ֵר‬ ‫א ְמ ִרים‬
ֹ ‫ָה‬ ‫ִּב ְל ָב ָבם‬ ‫־ ל ֹא‬ that are settled on their lees:
that say in their heart, The
ol - e·anshim e·qphaim ol - shmri·em e·amrim b·lbb·m la -
LORD will not do good,
on the·mortals the·ones-being-curdled on lees-of·them the·ones-saying in·heart-of·them not
neither will he do evil.
‫ֵיטיב‬
ִ ‫י‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ ‫ְול ֹא‬ ‫י ֵָר ַע‬ :

he-shall-cdo-good Yahweh and·not he-shall-cdo-evil

1:13 ‫היָה‬
ָ ‫ְו‬ ‫ֵחילָ ם‬ ‫ִל ְמ ִׁש ָּסה‬ ‫יהם‬
ֶ ‫ּוב ֵּת‬
ָ ‫ִל ְׁש ָמ ָמה‬ ‫ּובנּו‬
ָ

Therefore their goods
u·eie chil·m l·mshse u·bthi·em l·shmme u·bnu shall become a booty, and
and·he-becomes estate-of·them for·robbery and·houses-of·them for·desolation and·they-build their houses a desolation:
they shall also build houses,
‫ָב ִּתים‬ ‫ְול ֹא‬ ‫יֵׁשֵ בּו‬ ‫ְונ ְָטעּו‬ ‫ְכ ָר ִמים‬ ‫ְול ֹא‬ ‫יִ ְׁשּתּו‬ ‫־ אֶ ת‬ but not inhabit [them]; and
they shall plant vineyards,

but not drink the wine
houses and·not they-shall-dwell and·they-plant vineyards and·not they-shall-drink »
thereof.

1:14 ‫י!ם ָקר!ב‬ ‫יְ הוָה ־‬ ‫ַהּגָד!ל‬ ‫ּומ ֵהר ָקר!ב‬

ַ ‫ְמאֹד‬ ‫ק!ל‬ ‫י!ם‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ ‫ַמר‬

. The great day of the
qrub ium - ieue e·gdul qrub u·mer mad qul ium ieue mr LORD [is] near, [it is] near,
near day-of Yahweh the·great near and·swift exceedingly sound-of day-of Yahweh bitter and hasteth greatly, [even]
the voice of the day of the
‫צ ֵֹר ַח‬ ‫ׁשָ ם‬ ‫ּגִ ּב!ר‬ : LORD: the mighty man

That day [is] a day of

day of clouds and thick

1:16 ‫י!ם‬ ‫ׁש!פָ ר‬ ‫ּותרּועָ ה‬

ְ ‫ֶהעָ ִרים עַ ל‬ ‫ַה ְּבצֻ ר!ת‬ ‫ְועַ ל‬ ‫ַה ִּפּנ!ת‬

A day of the trumpet and

day-of trumpet and·shouting on the·cities the·ones-being-defended and·on the·corners cities, and against the high
towers.
‫ַהּגְ בֹה!ת‬ :

1:17 ‫ֹתי‬
ִ ‫ַוהֲצֵ ר‬ ‫לָ אָ ָדם‬ ‫ְו ָה ְלכּו‬ ‫ּכַ ִע ְו ִרים‬ ‫ִּכי‬ ‫לַ יהוָה‬ ‫ָחטָ אּו‬
17
And I will bring distress
u·etzrthi l·adm u·elku k·ourim ki l·ieue chtau upon men, that they shall
and·I-cbring-distress to·the·human and·they-go as·the·blind-men that to·Yahweh they-sin walk like blind men,
because they have sinned
" ַ‫ְוׁשֻ ּפ‬ ‫ָּד ָמם‬ ‫ּכֶ עָ פָ ר‬ ‫ּול ֻח ָמם‬
ְ ‫ּכַ ּגְ לָ ִלים‬ : against the LORD: and their
blood shall be poured out as

dust, and their flesh as the
and·he-shall-be-poured-out blood-of·them as·the·soil and·intestine-of·them as·the·ordure(p)
dung.
1:18 ‫ּגַם‬ ‫ּכַ ְסּפָ ם ־‬ ‫ּגַם‬ ‫זְ ָה ָבם ־‬ ‫יּוכַ ל ־ ל ֹא‬ ‫ְל ַה ִּצילָ ם‬

Neither their silver nor
gm - ksph·m gm - zeb·m la - iukl l·etzil·m their gold shall be able to
moreover silver-of·them moreover gold-of·them not he-shall-be-able to·to-crescue-of·them deliver them in the day of
the LORD'S wrath; but the
‫ְּבי!ם‬ ‫עֶ ְב ַרת‬ ‫יְ הוָה‬ ‫ּובאֵ ׁש‬
ְ !‫ִקנְ אָ ת‬ ‫ֵּתאָ כֵ ל‬ ‫ּכָ ל‬ ‫ָהאָ ֶרץ ־‬ whole land shall be
devoured by the fire of his

jealousy: for he shall make
in·day-of rage-of Yahweh and·in·fire-of jealousy-of·him she-shall-be-devoured all-of the·land
