II. PROJECT SUMMARY

session, which is led by the class adviser or remedial teacher. Based on an
assessment method used by Phil IRI, the remedial teacher/class adviser in each
grade level will decide which children require remedial instruction and will set
up dates for them to attend. Using the Remedial Assessment Checklist, each class
adviser will carefully monitor the reading progress of struggling readers.
Spelling, grammar, writing, phonics, and word identification skills and
comprehension are the project's primary outputs, and they help beneficiaries
improve their appreciation of reading. It will take 9 months, beginning in October
2022, to complete, with the school year ending in 2023. This project will improve
learners' overall language competencies, particularly in building vocabulary
skills, while maintaining their knowledge of various concepts in their field of
study and values education. It will also increase reading appreciation and
complement the formal classroom curriculum with interactive learning sessions.

was proved after conducting diagnostic test where the school has the MPS of 46.83%.
The school also conducted General Screening Test in Phil-IRI in English where 66 out of
68 from grade 4 to grade 6 pupils and 64 out of 90 pupils in Filipino from grade 3 to
grade 6 are identified in the level of frustration. Reading is the vital needs to acquire
every student for them to keep pace in the real world. The institution will focus to
handle this matter to increase the number readers and numerates this school year by
planning a project that will help the needs of the students.
