Important Safety Equipment Seat Belt System
Protective Measures Based on Seat Belt
The seat belt will help to reduce the possibility of serious personal injury incurred in the
course of accident or emergency braking. We advise that the driver and all passengers must
wear seat belt.
Each of the front seats is equipped with a waist belt / shoulder belt. Each of these belts is
equipped with an inertia lock and a retractor, which prevent the belts getting in way when
they are not used. The inertia lock makes the seat belt always comfortable to its user, and will
get the seat belt locked up in the course of collision.
The rear seat is also equipped with waist belts / shoulder belts. The retractor for the rear
outside seat belt can operate in two modes, namely emergency locking mode and automatic
locking mode (applicable to child restraint system).
The rear middle seat is also equipped with a waist belt / shoulder belt, for which a retractor
equipped with an inertia lock is mounted.
! Warning
△
Not wear seat belt: It is very dangerous not to wear seat belt. In case of collision, the
passenger who does not wear the seat belt may bump into other person or article in the
vehicle, and may even be thrown out of the vehicle. They may incur serious personal injury
or even death. In the same collision, the passenger who wears the seat belt will be safer.
Therefore, please always wear the seat belt and make sure that all passengers are properly
restrained.
Seat belt damaged in accident: It is very dangerous to use a damaged seat belt. Certain
components of a seat belt in service may get damaged in an accident. A damaged seat belt
can’t provide sufficient protection in the course of collision. No matter whether there is any
person sitting on the front seat or not, if the front airbag is inflated and the tensioner of the
seat belt is activated, be sure to get all front seat belts and front airbags inspected, and
replace them if necessary. Before using any seat belt system which has ever been used in an
accident, please get it inspected by professional maintenance personnel, and we recommend
to you the FAW-authorized maintenance personnel.
Twisted seat belt: A twisted seat belt is very dangerous. In case of collision, the seat belt
can’t give out all its length to absorb the impact force. This will make more force applied
onto the bone under the seat belt and thus serious personal injury or death may occur.
Therefore, please don't wear any twisted seat belt.
One seat belt for one passenger: It is very dangerous to apply a seat belt to more than one
passenger. The seat belt used in this way can’t disperse the impact force appropriately. As a
result, two passengers may get squeezed against each other and thus incur serious personal
injury or even death. Please don't apply a seat belt to more than one passenger, and drive
the vehicle only after making sure that every passenger is properly restrained.

Instructions on the Use of Seat Belt:
● The purpose of seat belt is to bear the force applied onto the human skeleton. When
wearing the seat belt, please wind the seat belt around the pelvis from the nether portion,
or wind the seat belt around the pelvis, breast and shoulder (on the basis of actual
situation). However, be sure not to wind the waist belt around the breast.
● To the extent that you feel comfortable, restrain yourself with the seat belt as firmly as
possible, so that it can provide the protection as designed. A loose seat belt will to great
extent reduce the protection that it provides to the person who wears it.
● Protect the seat belt carefully, so as to prevent the fabric portion of the seat belt from
getting tainted with glazing agent, gasoline and other chemicals (especially battery
electrolyte). It is safe to wash the seat belt with neutral soap and water. If the fabric
portion of the seat belt is worn, tainted or damaged, please get such seat belt replaced.
● When a seat belt is worn in a serious collision, even if the damage to the seat belt is not
obvious, it is necessary to get the whole seat belt replaced.
● Don't wear a seat belt of which any portion is twisted.
● Each seat belt should be used by a passenger only; it is very dangerous to wrap the child
sitting on the knee of a passenger with the seat belt.
● No user is allowed to change or add any device to the seat belt, because such change or
addition may lead to the situation that the seat belt can’t be locked up automatically or the
relaxed state of the seat belt can’t be adjusted.
! Caution

When wearing the shoulder belt, please wind it around your shoulder rather than your
stomach.
A seriously–ill person must also wear the seat belt. Please consult with your doctor for
special instructions on specific disease.
Be sure to use the automatic locking mode, so as to prevent the child restraint system from
moving to an unsafe position in case trouble occurs to such system. If you want to use the
automatic locking mode, just pull out the seat belt and then connect it in accordance with the
instructions on child restraint system. The seat belt will get close to the child restraint system

Airbag Inflation Device at High Temperature:
The airbag inflation device at high temperature is very dangerous. Immediately after an airbag
is inflated, the steering wheel, Instrument Panel, seat back, front / rear window column and
inflation device located along the dome are very hot. You may get burnt. After an airbag is
inflated, be sure not to touch any component of the airbag.
Installation of Front-end Equipment:
It is very dangerous to install any front-end equipment, such as front bumper (kangaroo fender
rod, bumper frame or compression bar and etc.), snow plough or winch truck. The collision
sensing system of the airbag may get affected. This may cause unexpected inflation of the
airbag or failure of the airbag to get inflated in case of accident. As a result, the passenger on
front seat may incur personal injury. Be sure not to install any front-end equipment onto your
vehicle.
Adjustment of Suspension:
It is very dangerous to adjust the suspension of the vehicle. If the vehicle’s height or
suspension is changed, the vehicle can’t accurately detect the collision, so that the airbag may
get inflated unexpectedly or incorrectly and serious personal injury may occur.
Renovation to Supplemental Restraint System:
It is very dangerous to renovate or reconnect any component of the supplemental restraint
system. You may get it activated unexpectedly or make it lose its function. Don't make any
renovation to the supplemental restraint system, including the installation of any ornament,
badge or other article onto the airbag. The renovation mentioned above also includes the
installation of any other electric device onto or near any component or wire of the system.
Professional maintenance personnel can provide instructions on dismantle and installation of
front seat, we recommend to you the FAW-authorized maintenance personnel. It is very
important to properly protect the connecting wires and connectors of side airbag and curtain
airbag, so as to ensure that the airbag will not get inflated unexpectedly and each seat is linked
to an undamaged airbag.
Connecting Wires of Side Airbag and Curtain Airbag under Seat:
It is very dangerous to place luggage or other articles under the front seat. The connecting
wires of side airbag and curtain airbag may get damaged and thus the side airbag and curtain
airbag will not get inflated in case of lateral collision. As a result, death or serious personal
injury may occur. In order to prevent the connecting wires of side airbag and curtain airbag
from getting damaged, be sure not to place any luggage or other article under the front seat.

Before Driving Your Vehicle Protective Measure for Fuel and Engine Exhaust
It is very dangerous to park the vehicle on or near inflammable materials (such as hay). Even
if the engine stops, the inflammable materials may be fired by the exhaust system because the
exhaust system will become very hot in the course of normal operation. The fire may cause
serious personal injury. Please don’t park the vehicle on or near any inflammable material.
! Caution
△
If you ignore the following protective measures, the lead may accumulate on the catalyst in
the converter or the converter may become very hot. Each of the following incorrect actions
will damage the catalytic converter and reduce its performance.
● Use unleaded gasoline only.
● Don't drive your vehicle when the engine gives a signal of trouble.
● Don’t slide the vehicle when the ignition switch is turned off.
● Don’t slide your vehicle down a steep slope with the ignition switch turned off.
● Don’t make the engine run at high idle speed for more than five minutes.
● Don’t dismantle the emission control system at random. All inspection and adjustment
should be carried out by professional technical personnel.
● Don’t attempt to start up the engine by pushing or towing your vehicle.

Carbon Monoxide:
The vehicle exhaust is very dangerous to human being. The exhaust contains CO (carbon
monoxide), which is a kind of colorless, odorless and toxic gas. If a person inhales carbon
monoxide, he may lose consciousness and die. If you smell the odor of the exhaust in the
vehicle, please immediately open all windows, and contact with professional maintenance
personnel as soon as possible. We recommend to you the FAW-authorized maintenance
personnel.
It is very dangerous to run the engine in an enclosed space (such as garage). The exhaust
which contains the toxic carbon monoxide may get into the vehicle easily. This may make
persons in the vehicle lose consciousness or even die. Be sure not to run the engine in an
enclosed space.
The vehicle exhaust is very dangerous to human being. When you park the vehicle with all
windows closed and the engine running for a long time, even if you park the vehicle in an
open space, the exhaust which contains the toxic carbon monoxide may still enter into the
vehicle. This may make persons in the vehicle lose consciousness or even die. Therefore, if
you smell the odor of the exhaust in the vehicle, please immediately open all windows or
adjust the air conditioning system, so as to get in fresh air.
When the vehicle parked in deep snow, it is very dangerous to run the engine. The exhaust
pipe may get blocked by the snow, and thus the exhaust may get into the vehicle. Because the
exhaust contains carbon monoxide, it may make the persons in the vehicle lose consciousness
or even die. Therefore, please clear away the snow accumulated under and around your
vehicle, especially the snow near the exhaust pipe, before starting the engine.

Sudden Braking from Engine:
When you drive the vehicle at high speed on a wet,
snowy or icy road, it is very dangerous to shift the
transmission to a low-speed gear, because this may
cause the sudden braking from the engine. The
abrupt change in wheel speed may make the wheel
skid. As a result, the vehicle may get out of control
and then accident may occur. Please don’t use
engine brake when the vehicle is running on a
smooth road or at a high speed.
Note
● When the vehicle is running at a high speed,
maybe no gear of lower speed can be engaged
because the vehicle speed is relatively high.
● In the course of deceleration, depending on the
speed of the vehicle, the gear may be shifted
downwards automatically.
