Lesson: Farm animals
Type of lesson: communication of new knowledge
Vocabulary: farm animals: cow, horse, sheep, goat, pig, cat, dog, goose, hen, rooster
Time: 45 min.
Lesson aim:
- to enrich vocabulary with words related to animals – present flashcards, hand out worksheets
- to develop communication and language skills during class – repetition, listening to songs related to farm animals, play a game to use the
vocabulary taught,
Cognitive Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- name farm animals
- listen to a song about farm animals
- write a few animals with dotted support
- name animals after their sounds
Methods and techniques: conversation, explanation, question – answer, discussion, individual work, exercises.

Assumed knowledge: - I assume that students may be familiar with vocabulary related to the topic, have difficulty in pronouncing the words
correctly, have difficulties in retaining all the new words, be noisy when solving the tasks or singing songs.
Aspects I particularly need to be aware of: the students to understand everything the teacher says and asks;
Teaching aids/ Materials: blackboard, worksheets, laptop, PowerPoint, flashcards, coloured markers, YouTube, stickers
