You can, via Wi-Fi, stream music from a PC thanks to UPnP-technology (Universal Plug and Play). For this to work you need to be connected to the same wireless network as the PC. It is necessary that the PC and the phone are connected to the same wireless network. What is File transfer that can be found under Organizer? What is DLNA used for? Your phone has a built-in DLNA server that connects to a network using Wi-Fi. DLNA is used within a wireless network and it enables all DLNA devices to communicate within your wireless network. How do I setup the phone for DLNA? To use DLNA you first need to connect to a wireless network using your Aino. You also need to set this wireless network as your favorite network. The next thing to do is to turn on Content sharing (Settings > Connectivity > Content sharing). In your chosen wireless network, your Sony Ericsson phone which works as a Digital Media Server can share its contents with computers that have DLNA software installed or with other DLNA devices. How do I use DLNA? 1. Activate DLNA software installed in your computer. 2. If you also have DLNA devices such as PLAYSTATION3, turn on the DLNA devices within your wireless network. 3. Turn on Wi-Fi in your DLNA devices if needed. After searching the network, the DLNA devices will find your phone and show all possible servers in your wireless network. 4. Select the Sony Ericsson phone as the server. 5. Transfer and show the contents from your phone to the DLNA devices according to the commands in the DLNA devices.
Markus Hermansson, SECC Nordic Date: 2009-09-16 Can I use DLNA to download media from other devices to my Aino? No, Aino does not have a SMB client for downloading media files via DLNA. It can only operate as a DLNA server, sharing its content.
