Training on the operation of the stator cooling water system.

The protection and starting conditions of the stator cooling water pump
Over current protection, tripping protection
 Pump A is running, pump B is on standby; if pump A is tripped, pump B should started interlock.
 The power supply is normal, the water level of the cooling water tank is above 350. Check the
opening status of the inlet valve on site, and allow to start.
Start of stator cooling water pump after C level outage:
1. Fill the stator cooling water tank to the normal water level
2. Check the valve position of the system to confirm the normal state. If in the backwash position,
switch to the forward flushing position.
3. Check the insulation is normal, and the power on. Make on-site inspection, open the inlet manual
valve, close the outlet manual valve, report to shift leader, start the stator cooling water pump on
DCS, and contact the local operator to slowly open the outlet manual valve.
4. Check and adjust the pressure of the 6-meter layer parent pipe to 0.2MPA.
5. Adjust the flow to about 45T\H.
6. For the standby stator cooling water pump, check that the inlet valve is fully open, the outlet valve
is fully open, and put it into standby.
7. Check the differential pressure of the filter screen of the running pump, check the bearing
temperature, vibration, and the oil level of the oil cup is normal. Check that the inlet and outlet
valves of the other stator cooling water pump are fully open, and switch to interlock for standby.

Backwash operation of stator cooling water:

The operation of valves on the 6-meter floor could be learned on-site. Note that the flow should be
around 45. First unlock the standby mode, stop the stator cooling pump, and then operate the valve on
site. If switch it online, it is easy to cause the low flow protection triggered and cause unit trip.
Operation steps of switching to backwash:
1) Check that the unit is out of operation and the stator cooling pump is out of operation. Open the
stator cooling water backwash inlet valve C.
2) Close the stator cooling water inlet valve A.
3) Open the cooling water backwash outlet valves D and E.
4) Close the cooling water outlet valve B.
5) Start the stat or cooling water pump and adjust the cooling water re circulation valve properly to
keep the cooling water pressure at 0.2 Mpa.
6) After the stat or cooling water system is back washed for 4 hours, open the cooling water outlet
valve, close the cooling water backwash outlet valve, open the cooling water inlet valve, and close
the cooling water backwash inlet valve in sequence for 4 hours of forward flushing.
7) During the backwash period, contact the chemical to test the quality of the stator cooling water
every 4 hours, and make a record.
8) The generator back washing time is 24 hours. If the cooling water quality test fails, the time can
be extended to continue washing until the water quality test is qualified.
9) After the stator cooling water system is flushed, the filter screen of the stator cooling water
system needs to be cleaned.
10) After the backwash operation is completed, restore the valves of the cooling water system to
normal operation mode.
System introduction of stator cooling water:
The stator cooling water is used for cooling the stator coil of the generator, and the temperature is
required to be more than 2 ℃ higher than the cold hydrogen temperature. The conductivity shall
below 1.5, the pH value range is 7~9, the pressure is 0.2MPA, the rated flow rate is 45T/H, and the
trip value is 35. The water level remains within the normal range. The current water replenishment
method is condensate replenishment, and the condensate replenishment pump needs to be started. The
condensate cannot be used, the conductivity is too high, and the manual valve for replenishment of
condensate has been banned and kept closed. The high alarm value of the water level of the stator
cooling water tank is 555, the low alarm value is 350, and the rated current of the cooling water pump
is 38.5A

Accident prediction topic this month:
Treatment for trip of stator cooling water pump A:
(1) The stator cooling water pump A tripped, and the pump B starts normally.
(2) If the pump B did not interlock started, start it manually immediately.
(3) Contact the inspector to check the local situation, whether there is leakage, and whether the
pressure is normal. Check that the water level is in normal range (400~650).
(4) Contact the electrical personnel to check whether the current is normal.
(5) Analyze and the reason of trip, report to shift leader, and contact maintenance for treatment.
(6) If there is a large amount of water leakage, and the water level and flow cannot be maintained,
please latch off and shut down the unit.
