Standard Competence
1. Memahami tulisan bahasa Inggris sangat sederhana dalam konteks kelas.
2. Mencocokkan gambar dan menyalin tulisan bahasa Inggris sangat sederhana dalam konteks kelas.
3. Mengulang dan menghubungkan materi Unit 7dengan social studies melalui bacaan dan percakapan.

Basic Competence
1. Membaca nyaring dengan ucapan dan intonasi yang tepat dan berterima yang melibatkan: kata, frasa, dan
kalimat sangat sederhana.
2. Memahami kalimat dan teks deskriptif bergambar sangat sederhana secara tepat dan berterima.
3. Mencocokkan gambar dan menyalin kosakata dan kalimat bahasa Inggris sangat sederhana secara tepat dan
berterima.
4. Mengulang materi Unit 7 dengan melalui bacaan dan percakapan.

PRE-TEACHING ACTIVITIES
1. Context building SB p. 52 10’
(Vocabulary+)
 Copy (in colors) and cut up the exercise on p. 52 (Vocabulary+) as per color.
Leave out the words.
 Put the class into pairs. Share them cards.
 Tell them that they will listen to the audio. While listening, they have to
write the word down under the corresponding picture.
 Play the audio. Let them write the words. Somehow, you will find some
students make mistakes in spelling.
 Check the answers by sticking the colored paper on the board and ask the
class to spell it for you. Just write as they spell. Revise when there is a
mistake. Ask them to repeat the correct spelling.

WHILE-TEACHING ACTIVITIES
2. Presenting the language SB p. 52 5’
(Speaking)
 Draw a chart of 2columns. Whiteboard
 Point to one of your students’ pencil. Show the pencil to the class. Ask the
owner, “What color is YOUR notebook?”
 Write the question on the first column.
 The students will likely answer the color immediately. Repeat the answer in
full sentence, “It’s pink.” Write this sentence on the second column.
 Ask them again, “Can Katie (the student) say ‘My notebook is pink’?”
 Tell them it is ok to say so. Write the sentence on the second column.
 Your board will look like this:
It’s pink.
What color is your notebook?
My notebook is pink.
 Try again with a different item and color.

3. Practice 1: Writing SB p. 53 (Writing) 10’

 Ask the class to open their books on p. 53.


 They have to match the pictures and sentences.
 They have only 5 minutes to complete the task.
 Stop them after 5 minutes.
 See who has done. Reward them.

4. Practice 2:Speaking in half WB p. 32 E 5’

 Re-write exercise E on WB p. 32 on a piece of A4 paper.


 It will look like this:
What color is your eraser?
Fold into two
parts

It’s purple.

 First, show the class question no. 1.


 Then, flip the paper. Now they read the answer.
 Put the class into 2 groups, A and B.
 Show question no. 2. Group A asks the question. Group B answers the
question.
 Show question no. 3. Group B asks the question. Group A answers the
question.

5. Practice 3: Speaking in pairs WB p. 32 D 10’

 Put the students into groups of 4.


 Ask each student to pick one of their favorite belonging from their bags and
hold it.
 Two students in the group will ask and answer question:
- What color is your pencil case?
- It’s green.
 Write down the sample question and answer on the board.
 Change the item in the question to show that the question works for
different things too.
 When they have done, they have to change partner. They must talk with
their friends in the group only.
 Tell them they all begin on your cue. You will go around the room to
monitor and provide help.

6. Practice 4: Phonics SB p. 53 (Phonics) 5’

 Prepare alphabet cards M and N. Paste them on the board.


 Tell the class now you read the sound of M (listen to the audio before
teaching to get to know the sound). Get the class repeat after you.
 Pronounce the sound M again and paste a card of a mouse and pronounce
it.
 Pronounce the sound M again and paste a card of mom and pronounce it.
 Get the class repeat the sound.
 Do the same procedure with sound of M.
 Practice with the sentences.

POST-TEACHING ACTIVITIES
7. CLIL SB p. 54 – 55 20’
Worksheets
Listen and read
 Retype the reading on p. 54 and gap the words ‘art’, ‘color’, ‘red’, ‘blue’,
and ‘purple’.
 Copy the new worksheet.
 Ask the class to close their books.
 Put the class into pairs. Share each pair the worksheet.
 Tell them that they are going to listen to audio and while listening, they
have to complete the gaps.
 Play the audio (twice).
 Check the answers together.

Read and circle: raise the card up


 Copy the pictures in questions B. There are 6 pictures altogether. You can
copy the flashcards.
 Put the class into groups of 4. Share each the 6 cards.
 Books are closed.
 Tell the class that you will read the question. The students must raise the
correct card as the answer. No sound when raising the paper up. It’s not a
competition as well.
 Do all the questions.
 Get the class open their books and complete the exercise.

Talk with your friend


 Make a worksheet as follows:
Names Favorite colors

 Share everyone the worksheet.


 Put the class into 2 groups, A and B.
 They talk only with their friends in their groups.
 Tell them that they will ask their friend, “What is your favorite color?” to
their friends in the group. Write the question on the board.
 They must write the names of their friends on the first column and their
favorite color(s) on the right column.
 Demonstrate the activity.
 Begin the activity on your cue. Go around the room, making sure they will
not ask their friend to write the answers for them. They must not give their
worksheet to others.
 Stop the activity when the time is up.
 Ask them who has the same favorite colors.
