(b) 120
Solution:
2 x 60 = 120
3 x 40 = 120
4 x 30 = 120
∴ Factors of 120 = 2, 3, 4
V. Write all the factors of following other than 1 and the numbers themselves.
(a) 32
Solution:
2 x 16 = 32
4 x 8 = 32
8 x 4 = 32
16 x 2 = 32
∴2, 4, 8, and 16 are factors of 32, other than 1 and the number itself.
(b) 56
Solution:
2 x 28 = 56
4 x 14 = 56
7 x 8 = 56
8 x 7 = 56
14x 4 = 56
28 x 2 = 56
∴2, 4, 7, 8, 14 and 28 are factors of 56, other than 1 and the number itself.
(b) Write the last five odd numbers that are less than 900.
(d) Write the first six prime numbers greater than 20.

VIII. Fill in to show prime factorization. You can only fill prime factors in the circles.
a) b)
150 750
Solution:
(a)
12 18
2 12 2 18
2 6 3 9
3 3 3 3
1 1
∴12 = 2 x 2 x 3 ∴ 18 = 2 x 3 x 3
4 x 3 = 12, 6 x 2 = 12 6 x 3 = 18, 9 x 2 = 18
So, the factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12. So, the factors of 18 are 1, 2, 3, 6, 9 and 18.
(b)
30 105
2 30 3 105
3 15 5 35
5 5 7 7
1 1
∴ 30= 2 x 3 x 5 ∴105 = 5 x 3 x 7
So the factors of 30 are 1, 2 , 3 , 5 , 6 , 10 , 15 and 30 The factors of 105 are 1, 3 ,5, 7, 15, 21, 35 and 105
XI. Find the numbers that are divisible by the ringed number.
Solution:
Solution:
d)
133, 321, 4713, 2640 3
Solution:
321 → 3 + 2 + 1 = 6 → divisible by 3
4713 → 4 + 7 + 1 + 3 = 15 → divisible by 3
2640 → 2 + 6 + 4 + 0 = 12 →divisible by 3
53
Solution:
To be divisible by 3, the sum of digits has to be divisible by 3. The greatest digit to make the number
divisible by 3 is 7.
345
6=2x3 9=3x3
Factors of 6 are 1, 2 and 3. Factors of 9 are 1 and 3.
The common factors of 6 and 9 are 1 and 3.
The highest common factor (HCF) is 3.

(b) 30 and 45
2 30 3 45
3 15 3 15
5 5 5 5
1 1
30 = 2 x 3 x 5 45 = 3 x 3 x 5
Grouping the factors, we get Grouping the factors, we get
6 x 5 = 30 9 x 5 = 45
10 x 3 = 30 15 x 3 = 45
15 x 2 = 30 So, the factors of 45 are 1, 3 5,
So, the factors of 30 are 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 30. 9, 15 and 45.
The common factors of 30 and 45 are 1, 3, 5 and 15.
The highest common factor (HCF) is 15.
