INTRODUCTORY PRAYER

Heavenly Father, today is a very significant occasion for

all of us gathered here in Your presence. We humbly offer
this solemn mass, to thank You for giving us the courage and
perseverance to tackle all those difficult and challenging years
of study.

We praise and thank You O Lord, for being with us through

the years toward the realization of our goals. We implore
You, Lord, to let the Holy Spirit come upon us and open our
hearts and minds, to accept our responsibilities with
dedication and dignity, so that we will become more effective
instruments of Your goodness.

Kindle in us a love strong enough to let us carry on the task

ahead, and face responsibilities of professional life with
whole-hearted commitment and joy. Help us realize that our
profession is also a vocation through which we glorify You.

Tomorrow, we will live a new life, for today is just the

beginning of that life. Be with us always. This we pray
through Jesus Christ our Lord,

Amen.

Glory and praise to our God
Who alone gives light to our days
Many are the blessings He bears
To those who trust in His ways

We the daughters and sons of Him
Who built the valleys and plains
Praise the wonders our God has done
In every heart that sings

[Chorus]

Though the power of sin prevails
Our God is there to save

LITURGY OF THE WORD

FIRST READING Acts 9:26-31

A Reading from the Acts of the Apostles

When Saul arrived in Jerusalem he tried to join the

disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he
was a disciple. Then Barnabas took charge of him and
brought him to the apostles, and he reported to them how
he had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken to him, and
how in Damascus he had spoken out boldly in the name of
Jesus. He moved about freely with them in Jerusalem and
spoke out boldly in the name of the Lord. He also spoke and
debated with the Hellenists, but they tried to kill him. And
when the brothers learned of this, they took him down to
Caesarea and sent him on his way to Tarsus.

The church throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria

was at peace. It was being built up and walked in the fear of
the Lord, and with the consolation of the Holy Spirit it grew in
numbers.

The word of the Lord.

People : Thanks be to God.

10
RESPONSORIAL PSALM PS 118:1, 8-9, 21-23, 26, 28,
29

Response:
I will praise you, Lord, in the assembly of your
people.
I will fulfill my vows before those who fear the
LORD.
The lowly shall eat their fill;
they who seek the LORD shall praise him:
"May your hearts live forever!"R.

All the ends of the earth

shall remember and turn to the LORD;
all the families of the nations
shall bow down before him.R.

To him alone shall bow down

all who sleep in the earth;
before him shall bend
all who go down into the dust. R.

And to him my soul shall live;

my descendants shall serve him.
Let the coming generation be told of the LORD
that they may proclaim to a people yet to be born
11
the justice he has shown.. R.

SECOND READING 1 JN 3:18-24

A Reading from the first letter of John

Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed

and truth. Now this is how we shall know that we belong to
the truth and reassure our hearts before him in whatever our
hearts condemn, for God is greater than our hearts and
knows everything. Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us,
we have confidence in God and receive from him whatever
we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what
pleases him. And his commandment is this: we should believe
in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another
just as he commanded us. Those who keep his
commandments remain in him, and he in them, and the way
we know that he remains in us is from the Spirit he gave us.

The word of the Lord.

(Please all stand to honor the Holy Gospel)

Alleluia

Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia

12
PRE-GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

VERSE BEFORE THE GOSPEL

Alleluia, alleluia. Remain in me as I remain in you,

says the Lord. Whoever remains in me will bear much
fruit. Alleluia, alleluia.
(JN 15:4A,
5B)

Celebrant : The Lord be with you.

People : And with your spirit.
Celebrant : A reading from the Holy Gospel according to
+ John.
People : Glory to You, O Lord.

GOSPEL John 15:1-8

Jesus said to his disciples:

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine
grower. He takes away every branch in me that
does not bear fruit, and every one that does he
prunes so that it bears more fruit. You are already
pruned because of the word that I spoke to you.
13
Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch
cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the
vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I
am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever
remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit,
because without me you can do nothing. Anyone
who does not remain in me will be thrown out like a
branch and wither; people will gather them and
throw them into a fire and they will be burned. If
you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask
for whatever you want and it will be done for you.
By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much
fruit and become my disciples."

Celebrant : The Gospel of the Lord

People : Praise to you, O Lord, Jesus Christ.

(Please be seated for the homily)

I believe in one God, the Father almighty,

maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
14
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,

(All Bow or Kneel at this point)

and by the Holy Spirit
was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.

(All Stand)
For our sake
he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,

He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

PREFACE III OF EASTER

Celebrant : The Lord be with you.

People : And with your spirit
Celebrant : Lift up your hearts.
People : We lift them up to the Lord.
Celebrant : Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.
People : It is right and just.

Celebrant : It is truly right and just, our duty and our

salvation, at all times to acclaim you, o Lord,
but in this time above all to laud you yet more
gloriously, when Christ our Passover has been
sacrificed. He never ceases to offer himself for
us but defends us and ever pleads our cause
before you: he is the sacrificial Victim who dies
no more, the lamb, once slain, who lives for
ever. Therefore, overcome with paschal joy,

22
every land, every people exults in your praise
and even the heavenly Powers, with the angelic
hosts, sing together the unending hymn of
your glory, as they acclaim:

SANCTUS

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts.

Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

CONSECRATION : Eucharistic Prayer II

You are indeed holy, o Lord, the fount of all holiness, make
holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your
spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become
for us the Body and + Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his

Passion, he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it, and gave
it to his disciples, saying:

23
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT, FOR THIS IS MY
BODY, WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.

In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice

and, once more giving thanks, he gave it to his
disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT, FOR THIS IS
THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD, THE BLOOD OF THE NEW
AND
ETERNAL COVENANT, WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR
YOU AND FOR MANY FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

Celebrant : The mystery of faith.

ACCLAMATION
We proclaim your death, O Lord
And profess you resurrection
Until you come again

Celebrant : Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of

his Death and Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the Bread of

24
life and the Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have
held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.

Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood of

Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world,
and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Francis
our Pope and Jose Palma our Bishop and all the clergy.

Remember your servant Potenciano Larrazabal, Jr., whom

you have called from this world to yourself. Grant that he
who was united with your Son in a death like his, may also be
one with him in his Resurrection.

Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen

asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died
in your mercy: welcome them into the light of your face.
Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin
Mary, mother of God, with the blessed apostles, and all the
saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may
merit to be coheirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify
you through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Through Him, and with Him, and in Him, O God Almighty

Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is
Yours, Almighty Father, forever and ever.

25
People : Amen. (to be sung)

Celebrant: Let us pray with confidence to the Father in the

words our Savior gave us.

OUR FATHER

Our Father, who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on
Earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and
Forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass
Against us, and lead us not into
Temptation, but deliver us, deliver us
From evil.

Celebrant : Deliver us Lord from every evil and grant us

peace in our day. In your mercy keep us free
from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we
wait in joyful hope for the coming of our
Savior Jesus Christ.
