General Guidelines for Submission of Summer Internship Report

Contents of Summer Internship Report

The summer internship Report shall consist of three sections

Section I - Profile Study of the Organization (in detail)
Section II - Problem Centered Study in the Organization
Section III- Routine work given by the organization

For PGDM- Section I and Section II compulsory

Duration of Project Study: From 15th April to 15th June (8 weeks)

Type of organization that can be chosen for study - Nationally and internationally
reputed with all functional departments.

The final report should be hard bound and two such copies to be submitted to the PGDM
office after getting signature of your guide.

Soft copy of the full project report in the PDF format in a reasonably good quality CD
(Sony, Moserbaer etc,) also need to be submitted.

Requirements (mandatory):
Minimum of Eight E-mail based communication with the faculty guide at the college.
Step one-The student is free to divide the below mentioned structure (listed areas) of the
Organization study (OS) and Problem centered study into eight blocks for reporting via e-
mail to the concerned faculty guide. A block in an OS need not have any order. The
candidate can choose 2 or 3 areas together and study in detail through reading website,
literature review, having discussions and clarifications with the concerned managers in the
organization or even customers/retailers or distributors for acquiring deep in-sight about the
area of study.
Step two- The learning in the specified area of study and doubts (constraints) need to be
reported to the college faculty, with a copy to [email protected] (called trigger mail one
for the area ‘one’ chosen for study by the student). The faculty needs to compulsorily read
and direct the student as to what is to be done further through e-mail with a copy to
[email protected] A single trigger mail in an area of study may conclude, say for an
example with 5-6 e-mails both ways. The concluding mail for each area must have the
concluding statement eg. “Trigger mail one concluded” in the subject line of the mail
from faculty.
Step three- The student has to take up area two (of OS) and further go on till all eight
areas are complete and repeat the process as said before with regard to trigger mail. The
areas (themes) need to be equally spread out both in terms of time duration of study and
clubbing of themes.

Step four- All the mails is to be produced as physical record for verification by the student
when he produces the draft report on return to college. The draft report will not be accepted
without the e-mail print out.
Step five-First trigger mail send to faculty can include a portion of OS as chosen by the
student, and a portion of the Problem centered study or routine work done. However,
problem centered study should duly follow the systematic research procedure given as
outline. For example, you cannot talk about the variables unless you have decided on the
business and research problem.
