Software Installation Guide
Standard Operating Procedure: Installing SOLIDWORKS Network License:

Objective: To successfully install and configure a network license of SOLIDWORKS


on a server for distribution to client machines.

Scope: This procedure applies to the installation of SOLIDWORKS network licenses


within the entire state of Bihar of Govt. Engineering and Polytechnic colleges.

Equipment Needed:

❑ Server where the license manager will be installed


❑ SOLIDWORKS network license installation files
❑ License key(s) provided by ELMAX SYSTEMS AND SOLUTIONS !!
Procedure:

1. Preparation:
o Ensure that you have administrative privileges on the server.
o Verify that the server meets the minimum system requirements specified by SOLIDWORKS

2. License Manager Installation:


o Run the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager on the server.
o Select "Install SOLIDWORKS Products" and choose "Install Server Components" when
prompted.
o Follow the on-screen prompts to proceed with the installation.
o When asked for the license type, select "Network License (Solid NetWork License)."
o Enter the license server name or IP address when prompted.
o Complete the installation of the License Manager.
3.License Activation:
o After installing the License Manager, launch the SOLIDWORKS License Manager Server
application.
o Click on "Modify" and then "Activate/Reactivate your product license."
o Choose "Solid NetWork License Manager" and click "Next."
o Enter the SOLIDWORKS serial numbers and click "Next."
o Enter the server name or IP address where the license manager is installed.
o Click "Finish" to complete the activation process.
4.Client Installation:
o On each client machine, run the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager.
o Select "Install SOLIDWORKS Products."
o Choose "Specify the installation path, options, and license settings."
o Select "Modify the individual installation (on this computer)" and click "Next."
o Choose "Select different package" and point to the network location where the SOLIDWORKS
installation files are stored.
o Follow the prompts to complete the client installation, selecting "Network License
(SolidNetWork License)" when asked for license type.
Verify successful installation by launching SOLIDWORKS on the client machine.
5.Testing:
o Verify that SOLIDWORKS launches without license errors on client machines connected to
the network.
o Test license borrowing and returning functionality if applicable.

6.Documentation and Maintenance:


o Document the server configuration and license details for future reference.
o Establish a procedure for regular maintenance and updates of SOLIDWORKS licenses.

Completion: Ensure all steps are completed as per the SOP. Notify relevant stakeholders once
installation and testing are successfully finalized.
SOLIDWORKS 2024 System Requirements for Windows
• Operating System: Windows 11, 64-bit
Windows 10, 64-bit
• Server Products(e.g. SNL Manager): Windows Server 2022
• Microsoft SQL server: SQL 2022/SQL 2019
• MS Office: 2021
• Processor: 64-bit; Intel or AMD
• RAM : 16 GB or more(PDM Contributor/Viewer or Electrical Schematic: 8 GB or more)
• Graphics/GPU: Certified cards and drivers
• Drives: SSD drives recommended for optimal performance.
• NOTE:

Click on OK

Click on NEXT

Click on INSTALL NOW

SOLIDWORKS Client Installation step: 1

Right Click on Setup file to run as administration


Step: 2

Click on Install on this computer. Then click on next

Enter the 24digit serial key in SOLIDWORKS TAB


Step: 4

Note : Just click on Next without any modification


Step: 5

Click on Install Now without modifying anything..

Click on Finish to enjoy the SOLIDWORKS

Note: Just Double click on the SOLIDWORKS 2024 icon in desktop to open the software.
