Precedure To Fit A Used MFP Board Revision 6

It is only possible to exchange a used MFPB board from one machine to another for
testing purposes if you follow the procedure below.
If the procedure is not followed the data will be corrupted, Counters may be lost or
corrupted, and permanent data loss could result in a dead device!
(If you are fitting a new MFPB board, follow the installation instructions detailed in the
latest service manual.)
Please note that the SSD board must never be exchanged from one machine to
another as this will cause the corruption of data.

Note: Always label boards and components when removing and fitting to
another machine.

Procedure
1. Fit the used MFP board to the machine and refit all components.
At this point do not power up the machine as the previously used MFPB now
needs the Firmware to be installed.
2. Turn ON the MFP, and close the front door within 3 seconds….
3. Install Firmware taking care to set the “
machine”and “ type”as per the table below:

When completed - Turn the main SW OFF. Do NOT power the machine back ON!
At this point do not power up the machine as the previously used MFP Board now
needs to be reset using the “MFP reset tool”by the following procedure…..

MFP Reset Procedure:
6. Install the USB flash memory into USB slot for FW download.
7. Turn the main SW ON.
8."Data initialization completed!" is shown.
10. Pull the USB flash memory out of the Firmware Slot
12. C-D390 is shown on the operation panel and the writing will be in Japanese! –DO
NOTHING YET…..
At this point the machine may reboot 2 times, Wait until the “
Recover Data" button is
shown as in the picture below.
13. Touch the "Recover Data" button to restore the data from SSD board to MFP board.
15. Switch the machine back on and check the Serial Numbers and Meter readings and
counters match your device
End.
