END OF TERM NEWSLETTER

20th APRIL, 2024.

Dear Parent/Guardian, .
We are excited to announce the successful completion of the first term of 2024. We attribute all our
achievements to the Almighty God, whose abundant grace has enabled us to overcome encounters.
Despite the delayed opening caused by the cholera outbreak in Lusaka, resulting in an adjusted school
calendar with only 11 weeks of learning, our dedication to excellence remained unwavering.

The Wisdom Wood management and our committed staff did not allow the delayed opening of schools
to impede our quest for academic excellence. We take pride in announcing that we have successfully
achieved all our goals for the term.

Therefore, on behalf of the School Management, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our hard-
working teachers and support staff for their competence and untiring professionalism throughout this
term.

PARENTS TEACHERS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (P.T.A):

The Parents Teachers Association (P.T.A) will hold its Annual General Meeting on Saturday 18th
May, 2024 from 09:00hrs to 13:00 hrs at Powerhouse church in Chalala. It will be expected that
a new P.T.A executive committee will be ushered into office. We encourage all the parents and
guardians to mark this date and attend this extremely important meeting and begin to contribute to
the school activities as provided for in the P.T.A constitution.

REMEDIAL LESSONS AND THE GRADE ONE SPECIAL READING PROGRAMME:

Given that the holiday will be for one week only, the remedial lessons and the special reading
programme offered during the holiday will not take place this holiday.

GRADE 7 AND 9 HOLIDAY TUITION:

Grade 7 and 9 pupils will have holiday tutorials from Tuesday, April 30, to Friday 3 May 2024, running
from 08:00 to 12:30. These supplementary lessons aim to enhance study techniques and reinforce
key concepts important for success in the Grade Seven and Nine examinations at the end of the year.
Parents are further encouraged to implore the learners to use the holidays to catch up and prepare
for the forthcoming composite examinations.

HOLIDAY ASSIGNMENTS

Our learners in all grades will receive holiday assignments. We believe that the assignments will keep
the learners busy during the holidays and help them to easily catch up with the work as they return
to school. We urge our parents and guardians to closely supervise the work given to the learners and
ensure that the holiday assignments are handed in on the first day of the second term

ASSESSMENT POLICY:

Our approach to student assessment includes weekly tests, Mid-Term Tests and End of Term Exams.
This term, we adhered to this policy and we are pleased to report that the results were exceptionally
positive. We extend our gratitude to the parents for the support they provided to their children during
their study periods.

MID-YEAR EXAMINATIONS:

Our pupils were assessed from March 18 to March 22, 2024. We are pleased to report that our
learners have settled in well into their new grades, including new students. We also extend our
thankfulness to all the parents and guardians who attended the open afternoon on March 28, 2024.
It was encouraging to witness a good turnout of parents engaging in discussions about the learners'
progress. We anticipate the continued participation of parents in future open afternoons.

SCHOOL EVENTS:

1. SCIENCE FAIR
On April 13, our learners exhibited their scientific knowledge and skills. Their projects and displays
were impressive to watch. We extend our gratitude to the parents and guardians for their support in
preparing the projects.

2. WORLD CHILDREN DAY OF BROADCAST
Our students participated in a special program titled "World Children's Day of Broadcast" at ZNBC.
Their performances, including singing and poem recitations, were well received. We appreciate the
parents and guardians for encouraging their children to participate in the event.

3. WORLD BOOK DAY

Our school joined the rest of the world to celebrate World Book Day. Throughout the week, a
numberless of engaging activities filled the schedule, ending in a successful event. Learners were
engaged in diverse educational experiences, activating the love for reading. We encourage parents
to actively involve themselves in nurturing their children's reading habits.

LIBRARY BOOKS: .
Every year our circulation increases, which means that more and more learners are borrowing books
from the library. This is a wonderful thing. Unfortunately, not all of these learners are returning their
books. Learners are encouraged to continue to borrow and read books, but let’s encourage them to
return and that someone else also wants to read that book. That is the whole idea of a lending
library. We are therefore appealing to all parents and guardians who have learners who have not yet
returned the library books to please bring them to the school before the school closes for term one
(1) so as to engender the spirit of stewardship. All lost or damaged library books will attract a
minimum surcharge/penalty fee of K300 depending on the cost of replacement.

CARE FOR PERSONAL ITEMS:

We continue to collect personal items belonging to the children around the school. During open day,
a table will be placed along the corridors with “lost but found” items. Kindly collect the items that
belong to your child. We wish to remind parents and guardians to label all their children’s personal
items so that they can be returned to rightful owners. We also urge those parents who have items
not belonging to their children to promptly return them so that they can be returned to the rightful
owners.

PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES:

We would like to thank all parents and guardians who have paid the Term 1 2024 school fees in full.
The deadline for paying of school fees for term 2 is 6th May, 2024. Parents and guardians are
reminded that school places are only secured by timely payment of tuition fees as charged. Timely
payments of school fees enable the school to adequately plan for the new term and purchase school
requirements timely. Kindly read the School Fees Policy carefully as no learner will be allowed in
school without paying the required instalment.

Please note that all the fees must be deposited in the school account; (B~Wise School, Barclays
Bank, 17- 1401674, Long Acres Branch). Bring the deposit slip with your child/ward’s name to
the administrative staff as proof of payment and obtain an official payment receipt from the school.
The school does not accept cash payments under whatever circumstances.
