CT (Computed Tomography) System

Introduction

MinFound Marketing Team

CT (Computed Tomography)
CT Images generation

X-ray tube

Detector

The detector and X-ray tube are in a relatively static state, rotate the entire gantry to collect the X-ray data
passed through the patient's body, Different body tissues have different linear attenuation coefficients (μ
values), so that the X-ray data passed through the patient’s body can be used to calculated and
reconstructed for the final images.
CT Image generation

The X-ray projection data obtained by the detector is sent to the console
through the Slip Ring, the crude data will be reconstructed in the console,
and the final images will displayed.
CT Image generation

1. Digital radiography 2. Computed Tomography

A solid scintillator layer that converts the x-
rays into visible light photons. The
photodiode then converts the photon input
into an electrical signal.

Properties:
•High detection efficiency
•High geometrical efficiency
•Small physical size of detector elements

Important properties for detectors

•High detection efficiency for x-rays in CT
energy range
•High dynamic range
•Narrow gaps between active elements (good
geometrical efficiency)
•Fast response
•Low cost
•Small physical size

HV Generator Rate should be matched with Tube Heat Capacity

The x-ray beam intensity through a filter

1. Removes low energy (soft) x-rays that do not contribute to image formation but do increase patient dose.
2. Image reconstruction is based upon the assumption of a single energy, monochromatic beam.
