METHOD STATEMENT FOR WATER PROOPING WORK.

1. Purpose and Objective

The objective of this method statement is to describe the sequence of operations and means of controlling specific health
and safety risks involved in the waterproofing system including a keyed pre-formed sheet waterproofing system to below
the base slabs and up both sides of the base slab of concrete structures like tunnels, car parks, and buildings followed by
application of liquid polymer spray waterproofing membrane to structural concrete work other than base slab structures.
2. Scope

Custom Statuses: Use custom statuses to track the progress of your waterproofing projects, such as "In Progress,"
"Completed," and "Pending Approval."

Custom Fields: Utilize custom fields to include important information specific to each project, such as project location,
client name, project start and end dates, and materials used.

Different Views: Access different views to visualize and organize your waterproofing projects. For example, use the "Project
Overview" view to get a high-level summary of all your projects, or the "Detailed Scope of Work" view to dive into the
specifics of each project.

6.0 Procedure
Setting out:
Dig around the foundation to expose the exterior walls. Check for cracks in the foundation walls and repair them. Apply a sealant
to the foundation walls to prevent water from seeping through. Apply a membrane to the foundation walls to provide more
protection.
Methodology:
a. Planning and Preparation:
Waterproofing System is divided into two phases which are the application of PVC T-Lock:

Membrane and application of Integra tank spray membrane. The T-Lock Keyed Pre-Formed Membrane (KPM) membrane is
applied before the concrete work start and the Spray membrane is applied after the concrete has attained the required criteria
for the application. The contractor shall execute the trial test section on the vertical and horizontal surface which shall

include details of construction and expansion joint, complete with protection system and approval before application to the
structure. The subcontractor team at the site shall be responsible to check all items of waterproofing system against the
sequence of construction starting from the laying of reinforcement bars for the base slab till the finishing of backfilling,
considering the following:

a. Subcontractor to arrange for 24/7 supervision of responsible representative at the site for Backfilling surveillance, installation
of protection board, and waterproofing repairs as required.

b. The subcontractor is to provide the Specific Organization Chart of the Supervision Team for the project.

c. The subcontractor is to sign a separate checklist as attached in Appendix F to check the waterproofing membrane during the
backfilling work application.

d. Documentation:
Maintain proper documentation of all Look for signs of water damage, cracks, deteriorated sealants, or areas of potential water
intrusion. Interior Assessment: Check the interior spaces for signs of water stains, dampness, or mold growth. Inspect
basements, crawl spaces, bathrooms, and any areas susceptible to moisture issues.
Report any deviations or issues to the relevant authorities and take corrective actions as necessary.

Safety Precautions:
 The slope of ground drainage should meet the design requirements.
 The base layer should have sufficient strength, be solid, flat, and not sandy, and the base layer should be free of
standing water and clear water.
 Any impermeable layer/coating should never be applied on both faces of the wall as the wall must be allowed to
“breathe”.
 A non-permeable finish or waterproof finish should not be applied on a wet wall, as it takes a long time to lose water
used during construction.
 These include health hazards; such as asphalt fumes, lead, silica, and solvents; as well as safety hazards, such as falls
from elevation, awkward and heavy lifting, flammables, and power tools.

8.0 Health and Safety

Provide personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety goggles, gloves, and respirators to workers where necessary. Ensure
that the worksite is properly ventilated during the waterproofing process to reduce the risk of inhalation of harmful fumes and
vapours.
8.1 Training

personnel to work in the site.
Job specific further Training must be provided to the working personnel
