I. PROJECT LOCATION
The student chose Brgy. Cab. 6-24 Villa Marcos, City of llagan Isabela, where
unclean surroundings, improper waste segregation, dirty canals, and deforestation
are being evident. I decided to implement an environmental project in this location
to influence other people to bring more attention and greater importance on
keeping our environment clean and green in order to have a healthy and lively
surroundings.
In the span of the month of April, the student will conduct different activities
through one barangay, the student will conduct clean up drive at the first duty on
NSTP, cleaning drainage canals during the second week, the third week will be a tree
planting week, and proper waste segregation and disposal activity on the last week
duty of NSTP.
V. OJECTIVES
Cleaning Drainage Canals: Keeping our canals clean makes free flow of water.
The use of water canals as dumping sites can have very serious consequences as the
litter can close the flow of water and lead to flooding. Cleaning drainage canals could
also prevent the spread of mosquito that causes dengue and other diseases.
Tree Planting: Planting trees can increase the resilience of ecosystems, help
minimize climate change effects, and buy people and governments time to adapt to
changing conditions. Planting native seedlings in ecologically appropriate areas can
also counteract soil and biodiversity loss and improve human well-being.
Proper Waste Segregation and Disposal : This action aims to influence every
individual to dispose their waste properly in order to maintain cleanliness and
reduce hazardous chemicals and materials that could cause air and soil pollution,
and prevent diseases acquired from solid wastes.
I hope that by planning a clean-up drive, the state of our local surroundings will not
only be improved, but also cultivate a long lasting culture of sustainability and
cleanliness. I hope to make our community better, cleaner, and a more livable place
where togetherness and cooperation are being fostered.
NSTP Program Goals: Through instruction, training, and service projects, the
National Service Training Program (NSTP) seeks to develop and strengthen youth
defense readiness and civic awareness. Through initiatives like clean-up drives, the
NSTP-CWTS (Civil Welfare Training Service) framework seeks to teach in students the
principles of social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and community
service. The project is aligned with the goals of the NSTP program, which aims to
develop students' leadership, social responsibility, and civic- mindedness. By
engaging in activities that address the needs of the community.
Addressing basic needs: By focusing on health and cleanliness, this project addresses
fundamental needs that are crucial for the well-being and development of children
and families in our community. Access to clean environment is essential for their
overall health and prosperity.
NSTP program goals: The project aligns with the goals of the National Service
Training Program (NSTP) by promoting civic consciousness, social responsibility, and
community development. By actively engaging in Initiatives that address societal
needs, participants contribute to the betterment of their community and society as a
whole.
Overall, the proposed project is justified as it addresses the basic needs of the
community, promotes community engagement and responsibility, aligns with the
goals of the NSTP program, and has the potential to create sustainable impact. By
addressing these challenges, the project can contribute to the development and
well-being of the community, and promote a sense of social responsibility among its
members.
