V. OJECTIVES

Promoting Cleanliness: To conduct clean up drive in the barangay Cab. 6-24

Villa Marcos for the beautification and by doing so, through community clean up
drive, the student aims to improve the community by cleaning the areas that are not
cleaned enough. I believe that a clean and healthy environment is essential for the
physical and well-being of the community.

Cleaning Drainage Canals: Keeping our canals clean makes free flow of water.
The use of water canals as dumping sites can have very serious consequences as the
litter can close the flow of water and lead to flooding. Cleaning drainage canals could
also prevent the spread of mosquito that causes dengue and other diseases.

Tree Planting: Planting trees can increase the resilience of ecosystems, help
minimize climate change effects, and buy people and governments time to adapt to
changing conditions. Planting native seedlings in ecologically appropriate areas can
also counteract soil and biodiversity loss and improve human well-being.

Proper Waste Segregation and Disposal : This action aims to influence every
individual to dispose their waste properly in order to maintain cleanliness and
reduce hazardous chemicals and materials that could cause air and soil pollution,
and prevent diseases acquired from solid wastes.

VI. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A. Background of the Project

We all share responsibility for the community, and maintaining its
cleanliness shows how dedicated we are to its welfare. In light of this, the student
chose to implement an environmental activities such as clean up drive, cleaning
drainage canals, tree planting, and proper waste segregation as a component of
the Civic welfare raining Service (NSTP-CWTS) initiative, which is part id the
National Service Training Program. Urbanization and improper waste disposal are
contributing to environmental degradation, so it is critical that we take proactive
steps to protect the cleanliness and aesthetics of our surroundings.

This project intends to solve the urgent problems of inappropriate waste

management and littering in our neighborhood. The student aims to raise citizens’
awareness of environmental issues and foster a feeling of civic duty through
coordinated efforts and community involvement.

I hope that by planning a clean-up drive, the state of our local surroundings will not
only be improved, but also cultivate a long lasting culture of sustainability and
cleanliness. I hope to make our community better, cleaner, and a more livable place
where togetherness and cooperation are being fostered.

Community Engagement: In the context of an NSTP-CWTS (National Service Training

Program -Civic Welfare Training Service) proposal for a clean-up drive, community
engagement refers to actively involving members of a community in the organization,
formulation, and carrying out of initiatives targeted at enhancing the environmental
sustainability and cleanliness of their local area. Members of the community gain a
sense of accountability and ownership as a result of this involvement, which
encourages ongoing participation and has a beneficial effect on the environment.
The community clean-up activities promote a sense of community engagement and
responsibility towards maintaining a clean and healthy environment. This can lead to
a greater sense of the ownership and pride in the community, and a greater
willingness to take action to improve its well-being.

NSTP Program Goals: Through instruction, training, and service projects, the
National Service Training Program (NSTP) seeks to develop and strengthen youth
defense readiness and civic awareness. Through initiatives like clean-up drives, the
NSTP-CWTS (Civil Welfare Training Service) framework seeks to teach in students the
principles of social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and community
service. The project is aligned with the goals of the NSTP program, which aims to
develop students' leadership, social responsibility, and civic- mindedness. By
engaging in activities that address the needs of the community.

goals of the NSTP program, and has the potential to create sustainable impact. By
addressing these challenges, the project can contribute to the development and
well-being of the community, and promote a sense of social responsibility among its
members.

the issues that low-income communities encounter, imparting fundamental literacy
skills and encouraging hygiene. The project aims to enhance community members'
health, well-being, and educational outcomes through these activities, while also
offering chances for personal and professional development.

Increased community engagement: The initiative can foster a sense of ownership

and responsibility for the community's well-being by including people of the
community In the cleanup efforts. This can promote social cohesiveness and
stronger bonds amongst community members.

Improved health outcomes: the prevalence of illnesses ilke diarrhea, respiratory

infections, and skin diseases can be decreased by promoting cleanliness and hygiene.
