Advanced Statistics Syllabus SPU
Advanced Statistics Syllabus SPU
GRADUATE SCHOOL
MASTERS PROGRAM
Credit Units: 3
Course Description: This course introduces you to the basics of statistics – techniques which sociologist and other social scientists use to summarize numerical data
obtained from censuses, surveys and experiments. Topics include basic concepts to statistics , calculations of descriptive statistics and review of commonly occurring
distributions needed for understanding basic ideas of statistical inference. It introduces introduction to hypothesis testing and inferential statistics. The course gives
emphasis on applications through problem solving. The use of SPSS software is used to analyze and interpret data.
