III. Procedure

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Preliminary Activities
1. Greetings
“Good Morning, kids!” “Good Morning, Sir!”
“I hope you’re all having a fantastic day.
Let’s start our class by gathering together
and getting ready for our exciting learning
adventure.”

2. Checking of Attendance
“Before we begin, let’s make sure
everyone is here. As I call your name,
please say “present” or “here” loud and
clear so I can mark your attendance.”

(The teacher will start calling out names (The students will say “present” or “here” as their
one by one) names are called)

“Now that we know who’s here today, let’s

get ready to dive into our lessons and have
a great day of learning and fun together”

3. Setting of Classroom Standards

“As we’re about to start our lesson, I want
you to ready our classroom standards so
that our discussion can run smoothly.”

“Everyone please read our classroom “Respect for Others and the Environment.
standard that is pasted on the board.” Explore and Be Curious.
Strive for Excellence.
Teamwork and Collaboration.”
“So, are we all ready to follow these “Yes, Sir!”
standards and make our classroom an
amazing place to learn and grow?”

“That’s the spirit!”

B. Motivation
“Today, we’re going to dive into the world
of plants and how they enhance the beauty
of our surroundings.”

“Anyone in this class who can recall what Joselle: “A plant is a living thing that grows in
plant is?” earth, in water, or on other plants, Sir.”

“Excellent, Joselle. A plant is a living thing

and it grows in earth, or in water, or on
other plants.”

“To kick off our adventure, we’re going to

play an exciting game called the ‘Do not
Part the Plant Away.”

“But before telling you the instructions, let (The students will be grouped into 4)
us divide this class into 4 groups.”

“So, here’s how you’re going to play the

game.”

“I am going to give each group a glue,

manila paper and strips of paper. Written in
this stripped papers are the parts of a plant.
You will need to find the picture that
matches the words inside the classroom.”

“After gathering all the pictures, you must

glue them together in manila paper to form
a plant. The first group to complete the task
will be awarded.”

“Do you have any questions or “None so far, Sir.”

clarifications?”

“Very good. Now, let’s start.” (The students will perform the activity.)

C. Presentation
“The activity we had earlier has something
to do with our lesson today.”

“Who can guess our topic today? Romy: Based on the activity earlier, Sir, I think our
Anyone?” topic for today is about the parts of the
plants.”
“Very good, Romy. That’s right. Our topic
for today is about the parts of the plants.
However, we will not be just focusing on
the parts of the plant; but also, we need to
know how these parts works. We need to
explore their roles.”

“Are you ready to learn and have fun?” “Yes, Sir!”

“Excellent, kids! Now, let’s start our lesson

proper.”

D. Discussion
“Earlier, I asked question about what is a
plant. And Joselle answered that a plant is
a living thing that grows in earth, in water,
or on other plant.”

“Now, we might think that a plant is just a

one big thing but actually it is not. A plant
is more than just one thing, it has parts.
And these parts are critical to the growth of
the plant.”

“Talking about the parts of a plant, what do

you think are the basic parts of a plant?”

“I want to hear from Antonia.” Antonia: As what I observed during the activity,
the basic parts of a plant are roots, stem,
leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds, Sir.”

“What a good observation, Antonia!

Correct! The parts that were given to the
groups earlier are the basic parts of the
plant.”

“Now, the question is what do these parts

do?”

“I want everyone to focus on the visual aid (The students will read what is written in the visual
that is pasted on the blackboard and aid.)
together, read clearly the roles of each
part.”

(The teacher will explain elaborately the

parts of the plant after the class are done
reading.)

E. Application
“Now that you already know the parts of (The students will group themselves.)
the plant and its role. I want you to sit
together with your groups earlier as we will
have another exciting activity for you to
ponder and remember each part.”

“I am going to read in the class some role

of the parts of the plant and each group
must guess what part of the plant is being
described. After brainstorming, you need to
draw the part of the plant as your final
answer.”

“Do you understand?”

“Yes, Sir.”
(The teacher and the student will perform
the activity.)

F. Generalization
“Now that the class is very familiar with
the parts of the plant, choose one
representative of each group to answer my
question.”

“What do you think is the importance of

the plant in our environment?” (Each representative will answer the question.)

“Before proceeding to our evaluation, do

you kids have questions?” “None, Sir.”

“Excellent! Kindly prepare your pens or

pencils.”

IV. Evaluation
Match and draw a line from the parts of the plant to their roles/functions.
1. Roots * Make food for the plant.
2. Stem * Produces seeds to grow new plants.
3. Leaves * Produce a new plant.
4. Flower * Carries water to other parts of the plant.
5. Seeds * Absorb water and nutrients from the soil.
