The reference check will include preliminary questions designed to verify certain employment
information, followed by the gathering of information on the applicant against a series of job-related
competencies.
Inherent requirements:
● B.Sc. or B. Tech. degree on NQF Level 7 or a three-year national diploma on NQF Level 6 in
Medical Technology in a Biological Science related field.
● Minimum of one (1) year’s practical experience in Microbiological culture methods..
Recommendations:
● Experience in working in an ISO 17025 accredited, GMP licensed or similarly regulated
environment.
● Knowledge of the relevant guidance documents related to the testing, control and regulation
of biological medicines and vaccines; these include documents published by the SAHPRA,
WHO, EDQM, CHMP and ICH.
● Knowledge of statistical analysis of data.
● Laboratory equipment operation and maintenance and calibration checks.
● Practical experience in one or more of the following technologies:
o Environmental Microbiological Monitoring.
o Endotoxin testing by Chromogenic Kinetic Method.

1. How long and in what capacity have you known this individual? Could you elaborate on the
candidate’s position/s and responsibilities?
I've known Precious Mokoena from 2017, I was her English teacher in grades 11 and 12.
2. How would you describe the quality of work performed by the candidate?
Outstanding. She executed tasks allocated to her with diligence and meticulous detail. She
maintained good grades and strived to improve at all times.
3. Keeping the job description in mind, what would you identify as areas of growth for the candidate?
If possible, please give examples.
Communication skills, as a learner she used to struggle to communicate effectively due to being
an introvert but I can positively say that she has grown to be a remarkable woman, who can express
herself and she is a go getter.
4. In your opinion, what are the candidate’s strengths in relation to the specific job description? Please
give examples.
She is an attentive individual, reliable, results-oriented whom ensures to meet deadlines within
given time frame, good time manager and a team player.
5. In your opinion, what unique skill/s or specific qualities does the candidate have that will help them
fulfil these responsibilities?
She is a critical thinker who can work under pressure and pays attention to detail. Always striving
to achieve her goals.
