shall supersede sections contained within this specification where a conflict arises.

2. Products

2.1. Materials

A. Nameplates: engraved three-layer laminated plastic, minimum 5-mm-high black


letters on a white background. Emergency equipment nameplates: white letters on a
red background.
1) Israeli specific details:
a. White letters on Black background - Normal power
b. White letters on Red background - Emergency power
c. White letters on Brown background - CPS Critical power
d. White letters on Yellow background - CPS Non-Critical power

B. Tape Labels: embossed adhesive tape with minimum 5 mm white letters on black
background.

C. Wire and Cable Markers (all regions except as noted):


1) Ireland: All cables shall be identified by means of non-deteriorating type cable
tags, ferrules, strap-on type supplied by CSI and manufactured by Miltex type
CM (formally referred to as M10) range of labels fitted on each termination
point. Labels shall be UV stabilized, halogen free, self extinguishing, oil
resistant, IPA (cleaning fluid) resistant and weather resistant.
2) Israel and other regions: All cables shall be identified by means of non-
deteriorating type, UV stabilized, oil-resistant, IPA (cleaning fluid) resistant and
weather resistant cable tags, strap-on type, as manufactured by Miltex, Critchley
Brothers or equal and approved. To be tied to cable using plastic tie-wrap.

D. Cable Core Markers: Wire core labels shall be a non-deteriorating type marker:
a. For Ireland site: as supplied CSI, type “C10” (heat-shrink tube by Raychem
Tyco) or “I 10” (push-on transparent sleeve by Brady).
b. For Isreal and other region’s: as types used for Ireland except supplied by
local agent.

E. Conductor-Colour Tape: coloured heat shrink sleeves or vinyl electrical tape. Refer
to clause 3.2.F for appropriate colours.

F. Cable Tray/Rack Labels: pressure-sensitive numbers manufactured from adhesive-


backed polyester film. Numbers are to be black on white background and 25 mm
high.

3. Execution

3.1. Installation for under 690 Volts AC:

A. Degrease and clean surfaces to receive nameplates or labels.

B. Install nameplates and/or labels parallel to equipment lines.

C. Secure nameplates to equipment fronts using industrial grade double sided adhesive
tape. Where approved, only stainless steel set screws shall be used as an alternative
Use of self-tapping screws is not allowed.

D. Use embossed tape for identification of power source for individual wall switches
and receptacles, and for all fire alarm, security/access control, and CCTV systems
devices, such as strobe lights, evacuation speakers, emergency telephones, smoke
detectors, etc. Device identification tag to match system programming tag.
Coordinate with Contractor.

E. Wire and cable markers shall be fitted on each cable and termination point.

F. Branch circuit panelboard MCB labels shall be:-


1) All regions - computer printer stick-on label
2) Isreal - P-Touch tape

G. Wire and cable markers (labels) shall be fitted on each cable at each termination
point. In addition, labels shall be fitted to the cables at both sides of a PopOut where
it enters the Cleanroom.

3.2. Wire Identification

A. Power and lighting circuits: Provide wire markers on multi-core cables and on each
phase conductor and neutral in panelboards, switchboards, motor control centers,
gutters, multi circuit pull boxes, pull boxes wit parallel runs of the same circuit, outlet
and junction boxes, and at load connection.

B. Identify with branch circuit or feeder number for power and lighting circuits, and
with control wire number as indicated on schematic and interconnection diagrams for
control wiring.

C. Provide wire markers at each termination point of fire alarm, security/access control,
and CCTV systems cable. Identify cables in accordance with the wiring schedule on
the Drawing. Coordinate with the Contractor.

D. Cable tag’s shall the following information:-


1) Both the source and destination of the supply.
2) Branch circuit or feeder number.

E. Wire tags inside enclosures or panels:


1) Phase conductor  Feeder or circuit number and phase number.
2) Neutral conductor  Feeder or circuit number.
3) Ground conductor  Feeder or circuit number.

3.3. Nameplate Engraving Schedule

A. Provide nameplates to identify all electrical distribution and control equipment, and
loads served. Letter height: 3 mm for individual switches and loads served, 6 mm for
distribution and control equipment identification.

B. Panelboards, Switchboards, and Motor Control Centres: 6 mm, identify equipment by


designation; 3 mm, identify voltage rating and source.

C. Individual Circuit Breakers, Switches, and Motor Starters in Panelboards,


Switchboards, and Motor Control Centres: 3 mm, identify source to device and the
load it services, including location.

D. Individual Circuit Breakers, Enclosed Switches, and Motor Starters: 3 mm, identify
load served and source.

E. Transformers: 6 mm, identify equipment designation; 3 mm, identify primary and


secondary voltages, primary source, and secondary load and location.

F. Fire Alarm, Security/Access Control, and CCTV Systems Panels: 12 mm, identify
equipment designation.

G. The following nameplate details are specific to Israel:

3.4. Conduit and Wireway Colour Coding

A. Exposed conduit, including conduit above lay-in or accessible ceilings, together with
associated pull and junction boxes, shall be banded at intervals of not over 3 meters
and at all direction changes. Bands shall be different contrasting colours. Obtain
approval for colour of banding for systems not listed below.

B. Grounding: Green.

C. 400/230-Volt, Single- or Three-Phase System: Blue.

D. 110-Volt, Single-Phase System: Black.

E. Fire Alarm System: Red.

F. Building Management System (BMS): Blue and Black.

G. Telephone System: Yellow.

H. Emergency 400/230-Volt, Single- or Three-Phase System: Orange/Blue.

L. Gas Monitoring: Black/White.

M. Medium Voltage: Purple.

N. Non-FMS Controls: Brown.

O. Clean Power: Pink.

P. All BMS wireway, junction boxes, and conduit shall be labeled BMS USE ONLY.
All lettering shall be blue on a white background with lettering 25 mm high. In
addition, BMS raceway containing 230V control wiring shall be labeled CAUTION
230V.

3.5. Cable Tray/Rack Identification

A. Provide cable tray/rack markers on each independently identified section of cable


tray/rack as indicated on Drawings. Identify cable tray/rack numbers at all tees,
crossings, risers, and changes of direction as indicated on the Drawings.
