Activating Prior Present an audio of a Folk Song.
Knowledge
Preferably a folk song from the province with the following conditions:
- A folk song which is also used in traditional dance

Before Activity 1, let students hear an audio of the folk song. You may
download songs from youtube.
Activity 1 Rote Mode Singing
(Teacher sings the song by line then learners follow after)

Example: Dalem na Dayat (Pangasinan)

1. How would you describe the quality of your voice, the voice of
your teacher, and that of your classmates after singing the
song?
2. What instruments do you think were used in the folk song
that you have heard? How would you describe the sound of each
instrument?

Lesson Purpose /
Intention Activity 2: Sing and Move
Use the same folk song from the previous activity.

Let the learners sing the presented song applying loud and soft
voices alternately in every phrase. The teacher may use hand
signals to guide/lead the learners to use loud or soft voice as
they sing

1. Group the class into 4 groups.


2. Each group may choose to sing, dance or the combination of two
in the performance using the folk song from your province.
Ask:

1. What kind of voices did you use to sing the song?


2. What did you feel while singing?
3. What kind of movements did you use for your performance?
4. Were you able to be more expressive when you used the
movements while singing the song?

Lesson Language Based on the previous activities, determine the basic ideas by

Activity 4. Unscramble Me
- Divide the class into 4 groups.
- Each group will have 3 minutes to unscramble a set of letters
and form words. The group who has the most words arranged
correctly within the time limit wins the game.
- The words will be posted on the board.
