In the circuit given below, the biasing components are, 𝑉𝐶𝐶 = 15 𝑉, 𝑅𝐵 = 120 𝑘Ω, 𝑅𝐸 = 680 Ω
and 𝑅𝐶 = 1 𝑘Ω. The transistor parameters are specified as, 𝑉𝐵𝐸(𝑜𝑛) = 0.7 𝑉, 𝛽𝐷𝐶 = 80 and
𝑉𝐶𝐸(𝑠𝑎𝑡) = 0.3 𝑉. Determine the following :

a. The type of BJT circuit this is.

b. The magnitude of the maximum collector current, 𝐼𝐶(max) .(assume the collector is
shorted to the emitter).

c. The BJT DC operating point.

d. The magnitude of the emitter current.

e. The voltage at the base of the transistor.

f. The voltage at the collector of the transistor.

g. The base-collector voltage and its significance.

Consider the circuit given below. The biasing components are given as, 𝑉𝑐𝑐 = 12 𝑉,
𝑅1 = 36 𝑘Ω, 𝑅2 = 18 𝑘Ω, 𝑅𝐸 = 470 Ω, and 𝑅𝐶 = 1 𝑘Ω. The device parameters are specified as,
𝛽𝐷𝐶 = 120, 𝑉𝐵𝐸(𝑜𝑛) = 0.7𝑉, and 𝑉𝐶𝐸(𝑠𝑎𝑡) = 0.2 𝑉.
