Scope of work Report

Pravin Masale
Village-Yavat, Taluka- Daund,Pune.

Introduction: -

Location- Lat 18.46508529

Long 74.26355448

The Area reachable by tar road from Pune.

Objective of the survey: -

The main objective of the survey was to recommend rain water harvesting sites, assess the
availability of groundwater, aquifer availability and type, possible ground water recharge area.

Geology: -

The regional geology of the area comprises deccan trap basalt having lava flow of compact basalt,
Vesicular Basalt of Upper Cretaceous to lower Eocene age. The compact basalt shows fractures in
some part of the area.

Hydrogeology: -

Aquifer in this locality is of fractured Basalt which is shallow aquifer system.

Observations: -

During site visit of the area, we observed Outcrops, Dug Wells and Water Quality (EC, TDS).

• The lithology of the area was thin soil layer of average thickness 10 cm followed by
Fractured Basalt of thickness 5 m in Dug Well.
• The water level observed in Dug Well 01 is 3 m bgl.
• The observed EC and TDS of Dug Well is as follows: -
Parameters Bore Well Filter Plant
EC µS/cm 1583 479
TDS ppm 791 239
Temperature °C 28.8 28.8

• The premises having 2 bore Wells, one near Dug Well which is defunction and other is at
parking area which is functioning.
• The area shows slop toward central part warehouse.
• The waste water from the plant is recycled in STP and used for Gardening. The water from
Bore well is used for agriculture land 1.5 acre in premises.

Scope of Work:

1. To observe physiographic condition of the study area with the help of field observation.
2. To observe hydrogeological conditions and study of aquifer system of the area and prepare
report in conformity with the provisions of the rules and procedure outlined by the Central
Groundwater Board (CGWB).
3. To work out quantitative and qualitative variation in groundwater with respect to areal
extent and to find out water balance.
4. To work out scope of rainwater harvesting within the area and design suitable
recharge/storage system to the extent possible within the area.
5. To suggest ways and means of creating artificial recharge to negate adverse impact on
groundwater regime of area.
6. A schematic diagram showing details of source-wise water availability including quantum
being to be provided by public water supply agency, water requirement and recycled water
use at each stage.
7. Installation of digital water level meter with telemetry in abstraction structure. The
periodically water meter reading.
8. Installation of digital water quality meter for regular monitoring of quality of groundwater.
Physical parameter like pH, Electric conductivity, TDS, dissolved oxygen.
9. Installation of water flow meter for detailed plan of pumping, proposed usage of pumped
water.
