Co-ordinate the total organisation to the ownership of a strategic vision, mobilise leaders, and direct stakeholder communications. Individual accountability or effectiveness – with focus on self-identity and flexibility – is quite vital here. CEOs also play a vital role in changes, as they are directly responsible for 45% of corporate outcomes. However, not all CEOs are created equal and they do not necessarily prosper to their full potential. They consider the ability to make decisions swiftly and adapt to change as critical success factors in the current market. While it may remain a relatively small possibility to become a Fortune 500 CEO and Brian L Roberts is among that Fortune 500 CEO. Brian L. Roberts is the current chairman and CEO of Comcast Corporation, and he has played a key role in the firm’s transformation to an international media and telecommunications company. Since his assumption of the top job at Comcast in 2002, the company has gone on an acquisition spree and transformation, expanding its portfolio through acquisitions of AT&T Broadband, NBCUniversal, as well as Sky. These have included innovation and technology, which has seen the inception of new services such as Xfinity, under Roberts. He has concentrated more especially on the production of content and their distribution which has placed Comcast in a very strategic place in both production and distribution. Roberts’ leadership has experienced various challenges, for instance, regulatory apprehension and customer concerns.
