WHAT IS SOLAR
ENERGY?
• Solar Energy is a energy (light or
heat) that comes from sun
• Solar energy is energy obtained
by capturing heat and light from
the sun
• Energy from sun is referred as
Solar Energy
• It is considered as green
technology because of it doesn’t
emit greenhouse gases
WHY WE NEED
SOLAR ENERGY?
• Approximetely 80% of the total amount of energy
globally each year comes from fossil fuels like
petroleum Natural gas and coal
• If we do not reduced consumption.we will run out
them very quickly. In this case very quickly means
maybe in our life span
• According to worlometer we will run out of oil in 47
years natura gases in 52 years and coal in 133 years.
In long term,if we want to use enegy sources that
will be never run out. There are better alternative
than fossil fuels
• Fossil fuels combustion result in pollutants contribute
to Land Degradation
• Fossil fuels produces HAZARDUS AIR POLLUTANTS
including sulfric dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, cobon
monoxide and murcury all of which are harmful for
environment and human health
TYPE OF SOLAR
ENERGY
• Although most orms of energy have
the sun as their ultimate source the
term solar energy is generally used
to refer to methods of collecting
light and turning It diectly into a
useful form of energy. Technology
such as
• Passive solar gain
• Solar thermal ( for heating)
• Connected solar power ( for
electricity)
• Solar Photovoltaic ( electicity)
PHOTOVOLTAIC
SOLAR POWER
• If sun’s are concentrated by mirror, much
higher temperatures can be created the
light is focused onto central point with a
carrier fluid such as oil following throght it
l,The oil heats up to 400°c,hot enough to
heat water and make high pressure steam
that can drive a turbine and generate
electricity
• Solar concentrators only work in direction
of sunshine .The mirror is held on a Support
than can turn to follow sun as it moves
throughout the day , adding to comlexitly
and cost .Becouse of this. They are only
use in areas benefiting from a sunny
climate with more clear sky- days
