Subject: Application for the post of a Geography teacher


Respected Sir/Madam,
I, Anosuya Roy, am interested in applying for the post of a geography teacher in your reputed
institution. I believe that my skills and passion for teaching will make a positive
contribution to your school.

I have completed my Master’s degree in Geography from University of Calcutta (2020) and
B.Ed. from Shri Shikshayatan College in 2022. Soon after, I started to work for Birla's
Ashok Hall Group of Schools in Kolkata as a high school Geography teacher and I am
currently working there. I opted to pursue a career as a teacher since I have always been
good at it. Working with children between the ages of 11 and 15 has brought out some of
my greatest strengths. I believe that over time, having patience, perseverance, empathy,
and a concrete target will help me advance in my career. My urge to expand my knowledge
and my predilection towards academics have both gotten stronger because of this overall
teaching process. I am a very organised and diligent person who strives to quickly realize
the goals I have and build the career that interests me, stimulates me to get out of my bed
each morning, and makes me feel satisfied. My ability to quickly connect with children is
my greatest strength. Moreover, during my practice teaching in B.ed, I have developed good
oratory skills along with classroom management techniques to deal with children and educate
them in a friendly environment.

I have attached my updated resume with this letter for you. I would really appreciate it if I
could get one chance to meet you in person to discuss the possibilities.
