A DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 5

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to;
a. identify the difference of demonstrative pronoun. This, these, that, those;
b. construct sentence using demonstrative pronoun; and
c. use demonstrative pronouns by describing the things inside the learning
environment.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: Demonstrative Pronoun
Reference: Kto12 Basic Education Curriculum in English 5 page 172-180
Materials: Visual Aids and Green Board

III. PROCEDURE

PRELIMINARY

a. Prayer
May I request everyone to please stand In the name of the Father, the Son
as we start our leaning journey today and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

b. Greetings Good morning Teacher Rolen! Good

Okay, take your seats now. Wow! I can


see beautiful faces today and everything is
clean, your chairs are arrange properly. Good
job keep it up class.
c. Checking Attendance

Now let us check the attendance. Since


all the sits are occupied I presume that
all of you are present.

d. Review
So class, before we start our lesson and (Chris raised their hands)

we tackled yesterday.

MOTIVATION

Before we will proceed to our lesson proper,


let’s have our first activity entitled, GUESS
ME.

Mechanics: I have here a four envelopes which


consists a sentence with a missing word, all you
have to do is to analyze and guess the answer. (STUDENTS DO THE ACTIVITY)

and answer questions that follows:

4 DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUN

Near Far
Singular This That
Plural These Those

1. This – singular, near.


2. These – plural, near.
3. That – singular, far.
4. Those – plural, far.

Examples:
 This is a pen
 These are a top toys.
 That shoes is mine.
 Those dolls are made in Belgium.

ACTIVITY

So to start our lesson proper, let us have our


second activity.

Mechanics: Let’s divide the class into 4 groups.


I have here a four pieces of bond paper
containing the 4 Demonstrative Pronouns. All
you have to do is to create at least 4 sentences
each.

Everyone find your own space to discuss the


context with your group. Afterwards, please
choose a representative to present your work.

activity which entitled, DESCRIBE ME! (STUDENTS DO THE ACTIVITY)

I will give you 5 minutes to observe your


environment and think of a sentence that
describe it by using any of the demonstrative
pronoun.
EVALUATION

Directions: Choose the correct demonstrative pronouns to complete each sentence.
