Remote Access Guidelines

We are responsible to follow guidelines while accessing bank’s network


remotely to keep bank data safe and prevent unauthorized access.

Connectivity
• Avoid connecting through unsecured/ free Wi-Fi networks.
• Enable wireless security options on your home Wi-Fi device.
• Always verify that websites you are accessing are trustworthy.
• Change the default password of your home Wi-Fi.
• Restart your home Wi-Fi device frequently.

Device
• Keep remote access disable until it’s required.
• Use bank’s issued device when accessing remotely.
• Ensure that patches/updates for applications (e.g.: Anti-Virus)
are installed without interruption.
• Don't install unknown browser extensions.
• Don't share bank's device with your family members.

Password
• Set passwords that are complex in nature (mixture of
characters, numbers and special characters).
• Don’t note down passwords in notebook or on sticky notes
within smart devices.
• Don’t store passwords on bank’s device (e.g.: storing password
in browser).
• Be cautious of shoulder-surfing attempts while entering
passwords.

Collaboration Tools and Online Meetings


• Utilize virtual collaboration tool that is authorized (e.g.: MS
teams).
• Avoid using freeware/shareware applications which are not
approved.
• Don't post meeting links on sites, social media platforms etc..
• Ensure that virtual meetings are not made public.
Behaviour
• Limit the use of bank's device for work-related activities only.
• Don’t access public file storage and mail services.
• Don’t download any software from the internet.
• Avoid forwarding bank/customer data to your personal
mailbox.
• Don’t capture snapshot of work related data and avoid sharing
it on any communication platforms.
• Avoid visiting potentially harmful or untrustworthy websites.
• Always remember to lock the screen of your laptop while you
are away.
• Ensure that device screen is not visible to your family members.
• Securely store bank device when it's not in use.

Phishing Emails
• Treat every external email with caution and look for common
warning signs.
• Think before you click a link or download an attachment in an
email.
• Never download unsolicited attachments.
• Beware of emails from unknown sources that indicate urgency
or immediate actions.
• If you suspect that you have received a phishing email, please
click on “Report Phishing” icon in Outlook or report it to Anti-
[email protected] immediately.

Incident Reporting and SMG Support


• Report suspicious activity to IT-SMG (IT-
[email protected], 24768880).
• Always keep the contact details of IT-SMG handy.
