PROGRAM/PROJECT/ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

I. RATIONALE:
Article XIV, Section 19 of the Philippine Constitution of 1987 states that in order to develop self-
discipline, teamwork, and excellence for the development of a healthy and aware citizenry, the state
shall support physical education and encourage sports programs, leagues, competitions, and amateur
sports, including training for international competitions. Furthermore, Executive Order No. 64, s. 1993
abides by the "Sports for All Policy," which requires the DepEd to provide sports and physical fitness to
everyone, regardless of age, gender, ability, or capability, in all competitions for organized sports.
As SDO Batangas City launched Project LEAP (Lifting and Embracing Athletes towards Improved
Performance (for GOLD) which aims to strengthen the culture of sports in the whole division, District III
of SDO Batangas City also launched Project Sports with THREE to develop and enhance students'
skills and talents through active participation in different competitions and provide opportunities for high
level of skill development and competitive success.
Along with this, Bucal Elementary School will implement Project LAKAS (Lifting young Athletes’
Knowledge, Agility and Strength) which aims to contribute significantly to the holistic development by
promoting physical fitness, coordination, and overall well-being which will improve the performance of
the athletes of school.

II. PROPOSED ACTIVITIES FOR SY 2024-2025

A. School Sports Development Planning

A.5. Activity Rationale:
In line with SDO Batangas City Project LEAP (Lifting and Embracing Athletes towards Improved
Performance (for GOLD) and Project Sports with THREE of District III, Bucal Elementary School will
implement Project LAKAS (Lifting young Athletes’ Knowledge, Agility and Strength) which aims to
contribute significantly to the holistic development by promoting physical fitness, coordination, and
overall well-being which will improve the performance of the athletes of school.
This sports development planning will be the avenue of collaborative planning among the
personnel in improving the performance of the athletes. It will include identification of school’s needs
in sports, formulation of targeted goals, creation of comprehensive training schedules, and
implementation of effective evaluation mechanisms to ensure continuous improvement.
A.6. Objectives:
1. To provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the Project LAKAS
2. To develop school-based sports program focusing on Athletic and Chess
3. To collaborate with each personnel, fostering teamwork and leveraging individual strengths to
create a cohesive and supportive environment for student athletes.

B.5. Activity Rationale:


The body can progressively increase its strength and endurance, skill levels, drive,
ambition, and confidence through training. Along with learning the value of maintaining a
healthy body and mind, athletes can also learn more about their sport through training.
Considering the potential of the athletes to compete on higher level of competitions,
competent and trained teachers would enhance the capability of the learners and strongly
support the advocacy of Project LAKAS

B.6. Objective:
1. To increase the participants’ agility and strength, develop speed, improve flexibility and
refine coordination.
2. To prepare Bucal ES young athletes, coaches and stakeholders for higher level of
competitions.
3. To inculcate the value of sportsmanship among players and coaches
