According to educators, the environment has a significant impact on kids' learning. Therefore,
education is hampered if classrooms are not suitable to learning due to poor condition and certain
subpar educational facilities. Brigada Eskwela was held by the Department of Education
this year from August 14 to 19, 2023 with the theme “Bayanihan para sa Matatag na Paaralan”. All
parties involved in the education system contributed their time, effort, and resources to make sure that
the school facilities were ready in time for the school opening. As early as July, teacher-adviser of
Kinabuksan Integrated School recruited volunteers who would participate in the brigade. Parents,
school alumni and other people from the community were encouraged to join the month - long annual
program. Since Brigada Eskwela received no funding from the federal government, private
companies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), private citizens, and local governments were
enlisted to raise money for the school's upkeep and repairs. The school's physical facilities coordinator
Sir John Paul Q. Borres and a few PTA members conducted a school inspection in July to determine
which school buildings needed upkeep and repair. Following this, the steering committee organized
other Brigada Eskwela school activities.
Early morning of August 18, teachers from Kinabuksan Integrated School continued to perform their
duties in preparing their classrooms in the opening of classes. Volunteer groups such as 4P’s were
present in the school and extended their help and support.
The completion of school facilities to enhance the learning environment and physical growth close to
the campus coincides with the school's expanding student body. Meeting the requirements of the
students is a key requirement for achieving the objective of quality education. However, it is a
fact that we must assume responsibility by transforming the institution into a desirable place to
attend.
From the very first day up to the last of Brigada Eskwela 2023, the allotted volunteers faithfully
carried out their tasks. Unexpected donations were much appreciated. The classrooms were neat and
organized thanks to the volunteers’ overwhelming help and support. Those areas in school with tall
grasses were now cleared. In general, the school is now prepared for the opening of classes. Herewith
are the supporting documents for the said activity.
