Job responsibilities / Principal accountabilities with CP Chem / Qatar Energy (RLPP)
Project’s Overview: Ras Laffan Petrochemicals Project (RLPP) to support the design and construction of a 1000
kMTA ASL Polyethylene unit and a 680 kMTA ADL Polyethylene unit, Bagging and Port infrastructure.

The Ras Laffan Petrochemical Project (RLPP) is a joint project between Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP
and Qatar Energy in the development of a new petrochemical plant in RLIC, Qatar. RLPP includes a 2,080 KTA
ethylene cracker, two high-density polyethylene units, associated utilities, offsites, and pipelines, and a
construction camp catering for a conducive living of 28000 persons within RLIC.

 As a Project Engineer, contributed for the detailed design / engineering developments for all the buildings
(110 Nos. of mixed-use buildings within the plant facilities and 5 Nos. of buildings in the RLIC port area)
including Architectural/Civil/structural/HVAC and associated equipment / utilities / Plumbing / Drainage
ensuring the safe, reliable operations of the facilities and equipment, meet the expectations of the business
unit, operations, process safety, maintenance, and environmental requirements.
 As a Project Engineer, ensured that the collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to identify
gaps, develop solutions, provide expert feedback, develop procedures, and produce a capital efficient
facility.

Client at all levels of the design.
 Review approve& Implement JSA/JHA / risk assessment requirements are met as per the HSE policies
effectively at site without affecting the progress & quality of the job. Micro tunneling works for PWA/
ashghal by coordinating with all the respective stake holders.
 Review EPIC Contractor’s work schedules / baseline program / Work Breakdown Structures / dashboard
programs/monthly to ensure that, the construction activities including procurement and other engineering

2, Categories 1 & 2)-Project value USD 1.530 Billion (2007 to 2010)
 The Overview of the project: The $ 1.53 Billion CCWP / PH-2 Category-1 & category-2, (EPIC) project is
based on a combination of “Once through” and “Recirculation system” providing cooling water to the various
consumers including Qatar Gas-LNG 1, Ras Gas-LNG 2 & Q-Power.
 Working as a team member for the overall Construction supervision of all the on-going site activities of
nearly 590,000 Cum of RCC works, 40,000 MT of Rebar, 15000 MT of structural steel in various areas
including Piling works (1258 piles), Construction of Intake areas, Cofferdams, Intake Pump Houses (2 pump
houses with 18 pumps), Manifolds, Distribution & Collection of Piping System (78 km GRE pipeline with an
average of 3000 mm dia.) and Related Auxiliary, ancillary facilities/Buildings as follows.
 Category-2 Consists of 52 km length of pipelines including U/G and A/G, GRE/GRP (Dia. varies from 600 ID to
3200 ID), 60,000.00 Cum of RCC works for the sleepers, anchors, manifolds, pipe bridges, valve
pits/chambers, LLCC buildings (3 nos.), MOV building etc and earthworks of 300,000 cum.
 Coordinate for the HVAC systems for all the buildings like Electro-chlorination building, Control building,
VSDS buildings (2 nos.), Operations Building, LLCC buildings (5 nos.), Substations/220 kv building, 33 kv
building, 33 kv electrical Switchgear building, workshop & Warehouse structures, Gate houses etc.
 Roads, Paving, Road Crossings, Utility Crossings like Product Corridors, Power Corridors, WET utility
Corridors, HP Gas Corridors, Pipe Bridges, platforms/crossovers, valve chambers, Pipe sleepers, anchor
blocks, thrust blocks, piling works, Receiving Basin, Discharge Channel, Stoplog Gates, Transition channel,
Diversion channel, Outfall Structure, Site grading/earthworks, Fencing the facilities within the project
battery limits @ RLIC.
 CCWP / PH-2 Category-2, is an EPIC project includes the construction of supplying cooling water to the end
users like IPP3, Shell GTL, Barzan Gas & Laffan Refinery.
Qatar Petroleum-Offshore Projects:
EPIC of Integrated Oily water/sludge handling system:

⮚ Construction of fire protection system/modification for Crude Oil Manifold system, surge tank area &
produced water system. Operating, Control & safeguarding philosophy of drain system, produced/formation
water system and sludge mitigation & handling system etc.
EPIC of Low Pressure Associated Gas Compressor Facilities:

⮚ Design philosophy of the project: To achieve zero flaring of the low-pressure TOTAL gas. To reduce the
current environmental pollution due to the burning of the sour fuel gas coming from PS-2 Platform.
Blending sweet TEPQ (Total Exploration and Production Qatar) wet gas and sour PS-2 dry gas to improve the
gas turbines lifespan. All available sweet gas will be used for blending which shall be supplemented by
drawing sour gas from PS2.

⮚ Foundations for the LP Gas Compressor A-5052 @ TEPQ (TOTAL), LP Condensate pumps, A5052 P1 A/B, Two
units of FGTP A-5050 & A-5051– both suitable for sweet and sour gas service located towards north of Phase
I & II Turbine areas. On-line mixer N-5002 and Buffer vessel V-5096 for blending the treated sweet and sour
gas.
EPIC of Crude Oil Import/Export upgrade facilities and beach landing facilities:

⮚ Operating and control philosophy: The crude oil system comprises of pig receivers for the sub-sea
pipelines from Off-shore fields (Namely PS-1, PS-2, PS-3 and Al-Khalij) and Single Buoy Moorings (SBM-1 and
SBM-2) for routing the crude oil received to wet crude oil storage tanks T5001 to T5005 in the South Tank
farm. Following dehydration, the crude oil is then pumped (transferred) to six dehydrated crude oil storage
export tanks T5006 to 5009 and T5050/5051 in the North Tank farm.

⮚ The crude Oil in the export tanks is pumped to two SBMs using the existing EVSD pumps and four new EVSD
pumps.
EPIC of Desalination Plant & Potable water storage tanks at Halul Island:
Design philosophy of the project: The new desalination plant is designed to produce 2,400 m3/d of potable
water from seawater by using reverse osmosis technology. The RO (Reverse Osmosis) process comprises of
construction of the following elements.
⮚ Sea water intake and brine outfall, Intake pumping stations feeding the new desalination plant, New
desalination plant (including pre-treatment and RO units), Tanks and associated pumping stations within
the new desalination plant (pumping stations to and from existing potable storage tanks and pumping
station to supply Total Exploration Qatar-TEPQ), Chemical dosing facilities associated to the intake, pre-
treatment and potabilization of RO permeate produced, New potable water storage tanks (2500
Cum/each), associated pumping stations and piping network, Wastewater and sludge treatment facilities.
EPIC of 33/11 kv Power Distribution Substation:

⮚ Construction of 33/11 kv PDS building with all associated cable trenches, cable cellars, Transformer
foundations, HV/LV equipment foundations, road crossings and other associated finishing works. Interface
coordination with the construction team of sub-sea power cable project (Ras-Laffan to Halul)/132 kv
substation building at Halul.
EPIC of CCTV/PAGA and Access Control Systems:

⮚ The project involves the installation of a fully functional state of the art closed circuit television (CCTV)
system, public address/general alarm (PA/GA), access control system (ACS) and intrusion detection system
(IDS) together with integration of the new systems to form one electronic security system (ESS) which will
be interfaced with the existing Qatar Energy information technology server for communication to QE’s Doha
central security center.
EPIC of Diesel dispensing /bunkering and associated facilities at Halul Island:

⮚ Construction of diesel dispensing/bunkering facilities, including construction of new diesel storage tank
with automation stock control methodology. Optimization of associated facilities such as fire protection
and other safety system for the diesel storage tanks & ancillaries.
Infrastructure Project: Construction of Integrated Chiller, Freezer, Laundry, Dining& Accommodation
facilities for 600 bed accommodation complexes (Halul Island):
⮚ The 600-bed accommodation complex project on the Halul Island involves the construction of 4
accommodation blocks, chiller, freezer, dining/mess/multipurpose hall facilities, administration block,
laundry block, supermarket, HV/LV substations/transformer units, pump house/water tank, septic tank,
and sports facilities etc., including coordination for the commissioning of the HVAC systems
Infrastructure Project: Construction of Centralized Industrial Area (Halul Island):

⮚ The infrastructure project on the Halul Island involves the construction of Office block, marine stores,
workshops/warehouses, compressor/gas cylinder storage facilities, blasting and painting booth, shoreline
protection works etc. that could cater additional Offshore Industrial facilities.
Infrastructure Project: Construction of New Security Building/Telecom building complex including the North
Ring Road of Halul Island:

⮚ New security building complex is a G+3 storied building with many facilities like sub-station building and an
armory building, external service yard building and the connecting Heliport, access/internal roads, land
scarping, fencing and other external works.
⮚ New Telecom Building with the following support facilities: This is a G+2 storied building with car parking
and external pump room and diesel generator set including the coordination for the commissioning of HVAC
systems.

 Worked as a project team member in the Construction team of Qatar Energy’s projects @ Ras Laffan for the
Common cooling Seawater facilities providing seawater to RasGas LNG2, QatarGasLNG1, Shell GTL, Barzan
Gas, W4/LNG1, Q-Power &Independent Power Plant (IPP3).
 Construction Supervision of all ongoing works, working in line with the plant shut down schedules, with the
valid PTWs and play a key role for the project interface environment in facilitating sound and efficient
communication to resolve interface issues with many concurring parties/stake holders/end-users/asset
holders like RLIC Project Engineering team, RLIC port operations team, RasGas LNG2, QatarGas LNG1, Shell
GTL, Barzan Gas, Oryx GTL, W4 LNG1, Laffan refinery, Dolphin Energy, Q-Power and Independent Power
Plant (IPP3), O & M of Seawater Facilities-RLIC, other ongoing projects of Qatar Energy, TOTAL / OXY / Halul

 Coordinated with all the stake holders to resolve the issues related to the construction of pipelines /
pipeline corridor crossings as per the Crossing matrix of RLIC and accordingly constructed the pipe
bridges / culverts, road crossings / utility crossings (Kahramaa power lines), road crossings for storm
water discharge with horizontal directional drilling operations.
 Stationed @ QP-Offshore facilities (HALUL ISLAND) for the execution of QP-Offshore Engineering Oil & Gas
(Brownfield/Greenfield) and infrastructure projects assisting EPC team with the QP Offshore e-PTW. Worked
as Client’s representative (Qatar Energy/Dolphin Energy Ltd/ADGAS/ADCO/NPCC/Ashghal) in the execution
of the Oil & Gas projects including brown field/green field projects.
 Aid the EPIC Contractors in obtaining Qatar Energy /RLIC e-CPW and oversee if the Contractors are
complying the PTW procedures. Review on Contractor’s technical packages for the PTW/e-CPW
requirements, coordinate with all the relevant authorities for all the ongoing construction works and
coordinate with concurring parties for SIMOPS (TOTAL / OXY / QP-HALUL) for an efficient PTW working
procedures/execution of projects.
 Review, comment & implement the Project Execution Plans (PEP), Methods Statements, Constructability
Techniques, feasibility studies, Rigging studies, critical lifts, Technical Queries, Field/Design Change Notes

Requests (MAR’s), Technical Data Sheets, vendor documents, third party documents & Material Safety Data
Sheets (MSDS).review & implement the Project Quality Plans (PQP).
 Attend the daily site meetings, site safety walkthroughs periodically & participate in safety awareness
programs, conduct safety audits randomly on the Contractors HSE performance at site to
promote/adopt/enhance the safety culture.
 Review and evaluate 3rd party reports for the material compliance requirements including the welding
qualification certifications.
 Coordinate with HSE team for the execution of EPIC Contractor’s scope of works & strive to implement
Company’s safety standards to accomplish zero incidents policy. Participate in the incident / accident
investigation team.
 Review, Comment & Implement Job Safety/Hazardous Analysis requirements effectively at site without
affecting the progress & quality of the job as per the Company’s HSE policies.
 Inspect/monitor/review/witness/approve & execute on-going site activities through RFI’s and ensure that
the construction works are executed per the approved PQP, IFC documents, IFC drawings, ITPs, method
statements, in accordance with Qatar Energy’s QA/QC policies.
 Working as a team member in the Construction of Civil/Structural works / pipeline associated with the
project’s scope of work including EW packages/mobilization and in coordination with Mechanical/piping,
HVAC/Building services, Electrical/ Instrumentation & HSE, including mechanical completion, hook-up,
PSSR/ pre-commissioning/commissioning, final handover of the project dossier along with punch lists close
out records, red line mark-ups and raising the documents to the as-built status of the project.
 Coordinate with Offshore terminal engineering departments/Offshore Terminal Control Room, Terminal
Operations Engineering & maintenance, Terminal facility management Department, Marine Dept, NSS
(National Security Shield) and Fire/Safety departments.
 Coordinate with QP-Offshore Sub-Sea cable project team for the Sub-Sea cable from Ras Laffan to Halul
Island.
 Coordinate with fabrication yard for the material/fabrication/hot works/blasting & painting for the steel
structures. Review on welding procedures & third-party certifications.
 Assist the Senior Project Engineer for the preparation of engineering deliverables including pre-FEED, FEED,
attending HAZOP/HAZID review meetings, aiding for Engineering input & mid tender site visits by the Project
Management / Contractors for the ongoing / upcoming projects.
 Participate in the internal/external audits of the QA/QC & HSE records.

Job responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall Construction Supervision of all the on-going site activities in various areas as listed

 Construction and coordination for the foundations of 48” & 36” Hot-tap tie-ins with the existing Gasco
Facilities. Construction of 48" Pipeline (subkha areas, non-subkha areas & high-water table areas) and the
relevant berm construction up to the tie-in point with the existing Pipeline.
 Construction of Anchor Blocks, Valve Pits, LLCC building, Operations Building, Administration Building,
Warehouses and Gate houses.
 Construction of foundations (pre-cast & in-situ) for Gas Heaters, Instrument air, Metering Skid, Emergency

 Checking of project/master drawings, MTO’s and involved in the preparation of Engineering Dossier for the
construction package and also coordinating with inter disciplines, ADCO & sub-contractors. Site survey in
coordination with survey contractors includes, carrying out various tests on the existing concrete structures
(Concrete strength, chlorination test, cement content test and degree of corrosion to the existing rebar in
the RC structures etc.) for the assessment of the integrity of the structure, and accordingly advise ADCO
