LOGO DESIGNING ACTIVITY

Creating 3D Effect on Logo using BLEND

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTION
Continuing from the last activity, create an enveloped Text Logo using TYPE TOOL and ENVELOPE
DISTORT.

The only difference this time is the presence of the spacing between divisions.

Delete the small portion of the shape. Now we have a circle with small space between parts.
Now, select all your objects and go to OBJECT on your MENU BAR and select expand.

Click OK on the EXPAND property window.

Make sure you are still selecting all objects, then right-click on the selected object and select GROUP.

Copy the object by going to EDIT on your MENU BAR and selecting COPY or just use the command CTRL +
C.
Paste in Place by using command CTRL + SHIFT + V. Create 2 more copies of the obejct. You will have 3
similar obejcts in total.
ELIPSE TOOL

Now, go to ELIPSE TOOL and draw 3 circles.

Select one of the circle using SELECTION TOOL, then double click on the fill color and change the color to
the darkest shade you prefer.

Select the 2nd circle then re-color to the medium shade color.
Then, color the 3rd circle to the lightest shade you prefer.

These color will be your guide in our blend effect.

Select the upper most layer of your object, then go to EYE DROPPER on your TOOL BAR.
Then click on the lightest shade circle so your can copy the color/properties of the object using EYE
DROPPER TOOL.

Then on your LAYER WINDOW, hide the upper most object by clicking the eye icon on the left side of
your layers.
Now, select the 2nd object and using the EYE DROPPER TOOL, copy the color of your middle shade circle.

Hide the 2nd Object to reveal the bottom most object.

Re color your bottom most object with the darkest shade from your color samples.

Now, resize the bottom most object to make it smaller than the rest of the obejcts. To resize from or
towards the center, hold SHIFT + ALT key, then grab on any of the corner transformation points and drag
towards the center of the object.
Now, unhide the middle object by clicking back the eye icon on the layer window.

Select both the bottom object and the middle object.

Next, go to OBJECT on your MENU BAR and locate BLEND, then click on MAKE.

You’ll notice that another obejct was added in the middle of the 2nd pand 3rd obejcts.
To further smoothen the transition, go back once again to the OBEJCT and select BLEND OPTIONS.

On the BLEND OPTIONS, click on the drop-down tab and select SPECIFIED STEPS.
Type 100 then proceed to clicking OK button.

Your logo will now look like this.

Now, unhide the top most object to reveal the lightest color and add clarity to the logo.
