ABSTRACT
This study delves into the use of computer maintenance techniques to improve the
performance of computers. The main objective is to explore whether using such
techniques can help enhance the computer's speed and reduce its slowness. For this study,
a simple random sampling method was used, and 50 respondents participated. The
respondents answered questions from researcher-made questionnaires, which used a four-
point Likert scale to obtain accurate information and interpret the results. The findings
showed that most of the respondents who used computer maintenance techniques
experienced an improvement in their computer's performance and were able to extend its
lifespan. This study provides evidence that utilizing computer maintenance techniques
can enhance the computer's operation and lifespan. Therefore, it is suggested that more
people should practice this procedure to lessen slow computers and increase their
productivity with an enhanced computer.

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
In today's unpredictable digital world, our computers are our constant companions
as they help us get through our daily lives and keep in touch with the current
environment. Just like the cars that we mostly need nowadays. These cars also need
regular maintenance, so too do our computers require preventive maintenance. Having
these strategies in maintenance keeps us reassured that computers are performing their
dynamic and efficient performance during usage of the computer.

According to a study by the IEEE in 2018, heat is a factor in hardware damage and
failure. By cleaning components and ensuring good airflow you can prevent overheating
and extend the life of your computer hardware. Encountering computer problems is not
uncommon. However, the more frequently you run into such situations, the higher the
likelihood of your computer breaking down eventually. Therefore, implementing
computer maintenance strategies can prevent your computer from encountering such
problems and potentially damaging it.
In summary, in the fast-paced digital world of today, it's very critical to keep
efficient maintenance of computers now that their dependence on them becomes
increasingly pronounced. Just like cars need regular servicing to keep them running well,
computers need preventive maintenance. This can reduce the probability of troubles
turning into big ones. According to Stark and Robert (2022), customers can raise the
durability of their gizmos by placing routine cleansing updates coupled with infection
security steps right into the area. Furthermore, as IEEE (2018) highlights appropriate
equipment upkeep is needed to stay clear of overheating and equipment breakdowns.
This consists of air flow monitoring as well as warmth control. Williams and Sawyer
(2013) press the worth of fixing approaches in detecting possible issues before they
become significant. In the long run by carrying out these upkeep treatments right into our
normal computer system use practice.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH DESIGN
The study will employ an evaluative research design to assess the effectiveness of
computer maintenance strategies. The goal is to identify ways to improve the usability of
existing knowledge and enhance overall computer performance.
The study will use an web-based online survey to represent its survey
questionnaires with closed-ended questions and using Likert scales with the four-point
system to evaluate responses accurately. And to come up with a valid conclusion from
the given responses.
RESEARCH SAMPLING
The research was conducted at Rizal High School. The chosen respondents were
the Grade 11 ICT students at Rizal High School, S.Y 2023-2024. The researchers had 50
respondents and made use of simple random sampling in choosing the respondents.
10
RIZAL HIGH SCHOOL
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood - Information and Communications Technology
Researchers found out that a simple random method is suitable for this research
due to the fact that there are over 200 grade 11 ICT students or the population to interact
with. This type of method is available for this research because of the high population
and the matter that researchers are dealing with. Moreover, it's the simplest way to utilize
the process. In this research, the lottery method may be used in simple random sampling
as it is the coordinating procedure to make the work done. It also makes the chances of
choosing the respondents to be less likely unbiased.
VALIDATION PROCEDURE
In order to ensure the validity of their research instrument, the researchers sought
assistance from their practical research teacher who had expertise in the research topic.
The researchers provided the survey instrument to the teacher for evaluation. The teacher
provided feedback and recommended changes to the instrument to improve its clarity and
effectiveness. The researchers will use this feedback to refine and finalize the survey
instrument for use in their research.
PRE-DATA GATHERING
The researchers conducted a thorough literature review related to their topic. After
analyzing the issue, they decided to investigate the use of computer maintenance
strategies to enhance computer performance. The researchers also determined the
significance of the study and selected the appropriate research methodology. They
identified the respondents and the research location. Then, they created, validated, and
revised the research instrument. They sought permission from the research advisor and
11

informed the respondents of the study schedule. Finally, the researchers obtained consent
from the respondents to complete the questionnaires.
DATA GATHERING
Once the questionnaires are approved for the study, participants are given
computer maintenance strategies to follow. Later, the researchers collect and compile
data from 11 ICT respondents. After collecting the data, the researchers review and
record it for analysis.

ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Analyzing the data gathered is important for testing the hypothesis and providing
answers to the research questions in a way that makes this study complete. With the Data
interpretation being descriptive, as was already mentioned in the chapter before.
ANALYSIS OF QUESTIONNAIRES
Out of 5 questionnaires distributed, 50 students completed the questionnaires. It is the
basis for computing and interpreting the results.
The data gathered through the survey questionnaire was subjected to frequency
counts. In other words, the responses for each individual question were added together to
find the highest frequency of occurrence (i.e. the number of times that a particular
response occurs). These responses to the questions, which are quantified, are then
presented in forms. This analysis presented is in the tables.
The first section of the questionnaire sought to identify if they are familiar using
computer maintenance strategies. It demonstrates the analysis of students if they are ever

findings, the conclusions drawn, and the recommendations offered.
SUMMARY
This study aims to have a clearer and deeper understanding of Utilizing Computer
Maintenance Strategies in Enhancing The Computer's Performance. As well as to suggest
alternatives and reliable solutions for the student on how they will utilize computer
maintenance strategies to their computers. Specifically, this research sought to answer
the following questions:
20
RIZAL HIGH SCHOOL
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood - Information and Communications Technology
The descriptive survey method was used when the researchers prepared utilizing
computer maintenance strategies in enhancing the computer's performance. There were
50 respondents in the study. Furthermore, the researcher used the simple random
sampling method as the research sampling so that all parts of the target population would
be given a chance to be selected in the study. The researchers were able to collect the data
by using the Likert scale with a four-point system in order for the respondents to choose
the option that best corresponds with how they feel about the following statement or
questions.
Based on the result of the survey questionnaire, the researchers found that most
students use computer maintenance strategies to their computers. The population of the
respondents is 50 and we have the majority that most of the students can utilize computer
maintenance for their computer.
CONCLUSIONS
Based on the results in Chapter 4 analysis, the following findings were made to
conclude this study.
The assumptions of the researchers were accepted based on the survey from the
respondents because 64% of grade 11 ICT students agree that they are familiar with
computer maintenance strategies for their computer. The assumptions of the researchers
were accepted based on the data gathered from the respondents, most of them often use
computer maintenance strategies to their computers. 60% of the students agreed that they
have utilized computer maintenance strategies. The assumptions of the researcher were
accepted based on the data collected; the data demonstrates that the preponderance of
respondents with 56% agreeing, equivalent to respondents who agree, believe that they
do experience advantage from utilizing computer maintenance strategies and improves
the computer performance. The assumptions of the researcher were rejected because 38%
or of the respondents agree that they experience disadvantage rather than improvement
21
RIZAL HIGH SCHOOL
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood - Information and Communications Technology
and 36% students disagree that they encounter advantages rather than disadvantages
when using computer maintenance strategies to their computers. The assumptions of the
researcher were accepted because based on a survey where they were asked if they regularly keep
up with computer maintenance strategies to their computer 50% of the respondents agreed.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The following recommendations are given to the group of people on how to
address Utilizing computer maintenance strategies in enhancing the computer’s
performance.
