NATIONAL LEARNING CAMP

Narrative Report
2024
Week 1 (July 1-5, 2024)

July 1, 2024

The first day commenced with a comprehensive teaching staff meeting focused on
the National Learning Camp (NLC) Policy guidelines and schedules. The meeting was
crucial for ensuring that all teaching staff were aligned with the new guidelines and prepared
for the upcoming orientation for parents. Later that day, we successfully conducted a
Parents’ Orientation session to introduce and rolled out the implementation of NLC 2024.
During the orientation, we distributed parent consent forms and registration forms to facilitate
the enrollment process of pupils in the NLC program.

July 2, 2024

The following day was dedicated to the retrieval of registration forms and parental
consent forms from the identified possible participants. This task was essential for confirming
the participation of pupils and ensuring that all necessary permissions were in place. Once
the forms were collected, we proceeded to group the enrolled learners into their respective
camps based on the pre-test results of the RECALL PROGRAM. This grouping was aimed
at creating balanced and effective learning environments. Consequently, five (5) committed
teachers were involved and with a total of thirty-nine (39) learners. Additionally, teachers
began preparing materials for the reading sessions, ensuring that everything was set for the
commencement of face-to-face classes.

July 3-5, 2024

The latter part of the week marked the beginning of face-to-face classes. Over these
three days, pupils engaged in various learning activities as part of the NLC program. The
face-to-face classes provided an opportunity for direct interaction between teachers and
students, fostering a more engaging and supportive learning environment. The sessions
were designed to be interactive and catered to the needs of the students, helping them to
better understand and retain the material being taught.

Overall, Week 1 was a critical period for setting the foundation of the NLC 2024
program. Through effective planning, organization, and execution of activities, we ensured a
smooth start to the program, with all participants and stakeholders well-informed and
prepared for the weeks ahead.
Week 2 (July 8-12, 2024)

July 8, 2024

The second week began with a day dedicated to the preparation of teaching
materials for the face-to-face classes. Teachers focused on creating and organizing
resources that would be used throughout the week. This preparation was essential for
ensuring that the classes would run smoothly and that pupils would have access to high-
quality educational materials.

July 9, 2024

On Tuesday, a Learning Action Cell (LAC) session was held. The LAC session
provided an opportunity for teachers to collaborate, share best practices, and discuss any
challenges they were facing. These sessions are vital for professional development and for
maintaining a high standard of teaching within the NLC program. Teachers exchanged ideas
and strategies, which would help enhance their effectiveness in the classroom.

July 10-12, 2024

The remaining days were dedicated to face-to-face classes. From Wednesday to

Friday, students continued to engage in interactive learning sessions. These classes built on
the foundation laid during the first week and provided pupils with more opportunities to learn
and grow. The consistent schedule helped maintain a structured learning environment,
which is crucial for learner success.

Throughout Week 2, the focus remained on ensuring that both teachers and students
were well-supported and that the learning experience was both productive and enjoyable.
The combination of thorough preparation, professional development, and hands-on teaching
contributed to a successful continuation of the NLC program.

Week 3 (July 15-19, 2024)

July 15-16, 2024

The third week commenced with a combination of LAC (Learning Action Cell)
sessions and the preparation of teaching materials for the upcoming face-to-face classes.
These two days were vital for both the professional growth of the teachers and the
enhancement of the learning experience for the pupils. The LAC sessions provided a
platform for teachers to discuss instructional strategies, share experiences, and
collaboratively solve any emerging issues. Concurrently, teachers were also focused on
creating and organizing the necessary teaching materials, ensuring that the resources for
the week were well-prepared and tailored to the pupils' needs.

July 17-18, 2024

The middle of the week was dedicated to face-to-face classes. During these
sessions, pupils actively engaged in the curriculum, benefiting from the interactive and
personalized instruction that the NLC program is designed to provide. The lessons were
dynamic and geared towards fostering a deeper understanding of the material, encouraging
learner participation and collaboration
July 19, 2024

The final day of the week was particularly eventful. The morning was spent in post-
test, where improvement of the pupils was identified. In the afternoon, the NLC Culmination
event took place. This special event marked the culmination of the efforts put in by both
pupils and teachers over the past three weeks. The culmination included distribution of
certificate of completion, presentations, performances, and displays of the pupils' work,
showcasing their achievements and progress. It was a celebratory occasion that highlighted
the success of the NLC program and provided a sense of closure and accomplishment for all
participants.

Throughout Week 3, the focus on professional development, meticulous preparation,

and interactive learning ensured that the educational experience was both effective and
enjoyable. The culmination event served as a fitting conclusion, celebrating the hard work
and dedication of everyone involved in the NLC program.

NUMBER OF IMPROVED LEARNERS AND INTERPRETATION

NLC CAMPS NUMBER OF NUMBER OF INTERPRETATION

LEARNERS IMPROVED
BEFORE LEARNERS
Intervention 30 20 Approximately 66.7% of the learners
who underwent the intervention
showed improvement.
Consolidation 9 3 Approximately 33.3% of the learners
who participated in the consolidation
phase showed improvement.
Enhancement 0 0 No learners participated in the
enhancement phase, hence no
improvements were recorded in this
category.
TOTAL 39 23 Approximately 59.0% of the total
learners showed improvement after
participating in various interventions.

This data indicates that the intervention phase had the highest improvement rate, suggesting it
was the most effective among the three categories. The consolidation phase also showed a
notable improvement rate but was less effective compared to the intervention. The
enhancement phase did not have any participants, so no conclusions can be drawn about its
effectiveness.
