Assignment
Instructions
• Form a group with a maximum of 3 students.

• Insert your names and student numbers on Google Doc with the link on OLE.

• You will be placed in a group if you do not form your own by 17 February 2023.

• The assignment consists of a case, a data file in Excel format, and 3 requirements.

• Read the case carefully and attempt all 3 requirements.

• There is a maximum word limit of 1,500 words for each group.

• Use your own words – do NOT plagiarize/copy from textbooks or web sources.

• Read the rubrics before completing your assignment.

• You should upload a soft copy of the assignment to the OLE of the course by 5:00 pm

on 24 March 2023. The file uploaded to the OLE should be prepared in Microsoft

Word. Please refer to the quick start guide for submission of assignments to Turnitin.

• You do not have to submit a hard copy of your assignment.


Case
Best Products Limited is a large manufacturer which sells a large collection of products to
distributors all over the world. The company uses a central database system to store the data
collected from various business departments. A slice of the database of Best Products Limited
as captured at the end of 2022 is stored in the Excel data file Assign_database_2023.xlsx.

Requirements
1. Identify and discuss business decision that can be enhanced with the data included in
the date file. State clearly the functional area of the related business process, the
nature of the decision, and then propose and explain the business analytics that can be
utilized to support the decision.(30 marks)
2. Create a dashboard using Tableau from the data file to support the decision making as
identified in requirement (1). The dashboard should consist of at least THREE (3)
(sets of) graphs which provide a coherent set of information. You need to export and
upload the Tableau file to the OLE together with your submission. (40 marks)
3. Demonstrate and discuss how the dashboard constructed in requirement (2) can help
the management to make business decisions as identified in requirement (1). (30
marks)
