1. After installation
If You already install huaCtrl or huaCtrl PRO and run it You can see connection
Wizzard:

As You can see this view presents sample

photo (from Huawei B535 backplate)
with connection informations.

Make sure You dont type WIFI password

as Admin password (its not the same!!!).
In green rectangle we can see router IP
address and Password (admin or user
password). As user name You must type
„admin” (or if other its written on
backplate) – if application says wrong
user or password then probably You
have only simple user access (not Admin)
and we cant do anything with this.
Next step is router search functionality,
as standard we prepared list of
addresses:
 192.168.1.1
 192.168.2.1
 192.168.4.1
 192.168.8.1

Additionally function searches all IP range of Your local address, for example if You have
Wifi IP address 192.168.1.100 then this function will search 192.168.1.1 to
192.168.1.255. If You want You can add different IP ranges using search tool or cancel it
(click outside). This helps If You have some connection problems (wrong IP, different as
its written on backplate). If You cant access to router even throw webbrowser (router
webui) then consider reset all router (reset procedure is described in router user manual
– most of all is some hidden button thath You must press and hold for 10 secounds using
needle or pin.

After Wizzard settings tab will open and You must type credentials.

You must type USER, PASS and IP – this

information You can take from Your router webui
(in most case is available under
http://192.168.8.1/).

Please type user name in field 1. (admin mostly)

Please type user password in field 2.
Please type router IP address in field 3 and then
press SAVE buton (4).

After that You should see signal indicator fill

according to signal strenth (5).

Huawei B715 webui:

From v.31 we add month limit guage, it shows then when You have enabled it on router
webui (in tools-statistics submenu – based on H122).

2. Tabs
In huaCtrl we have 5 tabs – You can change it at the bottom of screen, simply press tab
icon to change it or swipe tabs.

From left:
 Signal and data charts tab
 Settings tab
 Wifi tab
 SMS tab (inside icon is badge thats inform You about unreaded SMS count)
 Info tab

2.1. Status tab

1.CELL button – show/hide details

2.Router button – show/hide details

3. Map button – display map to show distance

between You (if You accept location
permissions) and cell – it is based on Google
geolocation and is only estimated locations
(could be wrong)

4. Notifications button – enable /disable (cell

ID changed or new SMS received)

5. Line charts button – show/hide line charts

6. Reconnect button – push and hold to

recconect (if it is configured – check point 3)

7. Signal round charts – shows RSSI, RSRQ,

RSRP and SINR

8. Speed test button – run internal connection test based on fast.com (Netflix), this
future allow You to test Your ISP max transfers… to get real values try to lock
download/upload charts – read next point (9)

9. Download and upload round charts – shows current download per second, total
download in current session, current upload per second, total upload in current
session
* Two charts You can set to show MAX rates (first and third) – simply push it to change
mearuse type

10. Summary data and time round charts – shows total downloaded and uploaded
data and current session time and global (sum of all sessions) router connection time

2.2. Settings tab

2. Restart button – if You need to

restart router You can do it here, after
click You must confirm this operation

3. Set band button – open band

selector tool (for further info see point
3 in these manual)

4. Antenna type selector – shows then

if is available to change, You can change
antenna mode like as in router webui
(internal/external/auto)

5. App settings:
 Charts max speed – allows You to
change charts limit (to accuire charts
animation better)
 App theme – You can change to LIGHT
or DARK application colors set
 Keep line charts expanded on start –
need to explain that?
 Show line charts values on lines -
shows measured values on each survey point on line charts (first tab)
 Line charts values show count – You can select how many surveys are displayed on
charts. You can tread this like seconds (but sometimes i delayed or even shows
faster – it is network, router and Your phone related task)

2.3. WIFI tab

On this tab You can obtain connected devices to Your router via WIFI. List presents (at
this moment) informations about name, IP and MAC for each connected device.

In the future versions we will add some functions like notifications about connections.

2.4. SMS tab

On this tab You can obtain received SMS by router. You can set as readed (1) or delete
SMS (2).

On this tab You can read about us. Or additionally support as by taking subscription.

3. Band selector tool

1. Choose network type, arrow
means that connection can drop to
lower network type. Question
mark means that is experimental
(untested).
2. You can set band preset – this is
old style selector but You can find
there some global aggegation
configs like ALL FDD or AUTO.
3. All bands list, You can select one
or more (aggregation) bands. But if
You select more than one then
Your main band will be choosen
randomly (or tower Cell decides).
Better choose one band as main
band -> apply, and then add other
bands.
4. Last choosen bands (recent list),
on this list You can find Your
previous settings.
5. Reconnection future – this is
very useful when Your current
tower cell restarts (power save
mode at night – some towers
disable bands at night). Connect to
cell at main band and then save
config to reconnect. When band
changed then after press reconnect button (on the first tab) router should connect to
saved cell at selected band.
If You select checkbox „Connect to aggregation” then
reconnection enables two stage mode – first (1) connect to
Your band, and then (2) sets aggregation (restore Your
aggregation settings or if is not set then select AUTO).

4. FAQ
Q: I set all router parameters correctly but no connection in app
A: Sometimes (when router is not connected to internet) WIFI connection is not Your
main connection instead of Your phone mobile data (from SIM card). Try to disable
„mobile data transfer” and try again.

Q: I disabled „mobile data” on my phone but no connection to router

A: On phone from which You run huaCtrl open webui (Your router manage page default
it is: http://192.168.8.1/) and try to login – make sure You are logged out in webui and
You typed the same login data in huaCtrl app.

Q: How can I speed-up my connection?

A: First of all test bands (available in Your country) one by one starting from B1 and check
bandwidth and signal strenth (RSSI and RSRQ) check out signal noises (RSRP and SINR).
SINR also talking about current cell load (if it jumping f.e. from 7 to 27 then it means that
cell is fully loaded!). After this research choose Your best band and set it as main band
and then add other good bands (usually it is not dirrectly as simple as I wrote –
aggregation is higly related with Your router – check that Your aggregation config is
supported by Your router). Please note: You select bands on Your own risk and
sometimes can freeze Your router… simple restart it or reset router to defaults.

Q: I restart huaCtrl quickly few times and now i cant connect, why?
A: You was BANNED! You cant do that! Now You must wait few minutes to connect.

Q: I cant connect but I know that router is compatible!

A: Consider to reset all router to factory defaults (maybe someone changed some
credentials/IP address). To do this mostly is ther some small button on router backplate
– You can press it using needle or pin (take it pressed over 10-30 seconds, leds blinks or
something like that).
