Skills

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards Patterns and Algebra

B. Performance Standards Demonstrate knowledge and skills in patterns and algebra (linear equations and
inequalities in one and two variables, linear functions, systems of linear equations, and
inequalities in two variables; exponents and radicals, quadratic equations; inequalities;
functions; and polynomials and polynomial equations and functions).

C. Learning Competencies/ Objectives Knowledge:

Write the LC code for each.  Perform operations on polynomials
(LS3MP-PA-PSE-JHS-25)

 Multiply and divide polynomials

(LS3MP-PA-PSE-JHS-24)

 Factor polynomials using methods of factoring

(LS3MP-PA-PSE-JHS-26)

Skill: Perform the given tasks individually, by pair and by group.

Attitude: To perform the operations on polynomials

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Springboard/Motivation Importance of Math
(Establishing a purpose for the lesson)
We will do a stop-ball relay. I will give you a ball and pass the ball to your
classmates while a play a song. When the music stops whoever gets the ball
will answer this question. Let’s Start!
B. Activity Pre-Test
(Review of previous lesson/s or presenting the
new lesson)  Learners will answer the pre-test questions using the worksheets.

Directions: Choose the letter of the correct answer by circling the letter of your
answer.

C. Analysis Let’s Try This Out (Group Work)

(Presenting examples/instances of the new
lesson) You want to use the game of playing hero cards to show your sister another
application of mathematics. Let us look at some hero statistics. Note that
SS stands for Super Skill.
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new Let’s Learn!
skills (sub-activity #1)

Lessons.

E. Abstraction Ask
(Making generalizations about the lesson)
 What is the Long division of a polynomial?
 How do we multiply polynomials?
 How do we divide polynomials?
 Why is it important to learn how to multiply and divide a polynomials?

F. Application Engage
(Developing mastery)  Let learners answer the different questions below.
Activity 1
Directions: Find the product of the polynomials by distribution. Do this
activity on a separate sheet of paper.

Activity 2

Directions: Divide the polynomials by the given monomial. Do this

activity on a separate sheet of paper.

G. Valuing (Finding practical application How important is learning the different operations of polynomials in your life?
of concepts and skills in daily living)
H. Evaluation Directions: Determine the product of the polynomials using the box method.
(Assessing learning) Write your answer on a separate sheet of paper.

I. Agreement (Additional activities for application

or remediation) Use long division to determine the quotient of the polynomials. Do this activity
on a separate sheet of paper.

V. REFLECTION
A. A. No. of learners who earned 80% in
the evaluation

B. B. No. of learners who require

additional activities for remediation
C. C. Did the remedial lessons work? No.
of learners who have caught up with
the lesson
D. D. No. of learners who continue to
require remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies
worked well? Why did this work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter
which my principal or supervisor can
help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I use/discover which I
wish to share with other teachers?
