Surah Fatiha
This is the opening surah of the Holy Quran.
It is called Umm-ul-Kitab, mother of the book, as all major themes of the Holy Quran are mentioned in it. Firstly it tells about Allah’s greatness as a the one who nurtures all the worlds of mankind, jinn and angels. It also reminds us that here is a day when Allah will reward and punish people according to their deeds and no one will be able to say any word before Him. “Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission?” [2:255] It rejects shirk as worshipping others and even seeking others’ support is a grave sin and insult of Allah. We are encouraged to seek guidance from Allah as to give guidance to someone is only Allah’s authority. ‘Straight Way’ refers to the guidance given in Quran and Sunah. Its Quranic style that it mentions the good and bad people in contras in many places. The ZATians' Academy - O/A Level [0300-2101569] 1 b) Allah is our creator and maintainer so we must praise Him and worship Him alone. We must avoid seeking support from other beings as no one is more powerful or sincere with us than Allah. It also reminds us rewards and punishments so leads us towards pious life. We need to get the knowledge of Quran and Sunnah to be on the path of Jannah and falling into satanic traps. We have to follow the lifestyle of the Prophets and their faithful followers and avoid repeating the mistakes of previous nations. Muslims recite this surah in every Rakaat of salah and for getting Shifa

2 Surah Baqarah (2:21-22) a) It is about Allah’s relationship with mankind. As Allah is our creator so only He deserves to be worshipped. “How do you deny Allah and you were dead and He gave you life? (2:28) and (16:78). Allah made all arrangements for our survival. Such things are mentioned which are only in Allah’s authority like rain and fruits etc. ‘Which of the bounties of your Lord will you both deny?’ Giving credit of these blessing to others is shirk.

3 b)
This passage demands us to worship Allah as He is the creator
of the whole mankind. We need to ponder over the blessings as it will develop the love of Allah in our heart. We are answerable about all blessings so we must use them as per Allah’s command. The passage encourages us to save environment by avoiding wastage of water and deforestation etc. We must not praise or worship other deities for Allah’s blessing as it is the most displeasing sin.

4 Surah Alaq (96:1-5) a) This is the first revelation of the Holy Quran, revealed in the cave of Hira. It talks about Allah’s relation with mankind. He is the creator of mankind (23:14) He is also the teacher. Whatever we know is directly or indirectly from Allah. (2:31) It lays stress on knowledge as the first word is ‘Read’. Knowledge brings us closer to Allah and enables us to differentiate between the right and wrong. “Are those who know equal to those who know not?”[39:9]

5 b)
The passage lays emphasis on learning and knowledge.
To acquire knowledge is obligatory on every Muslim. We should not only gain the knowledge but we must implement it in all aspects of life. The new discoveries bring us closer to Allah and now we can better appreciate Allah’s greatness. Pen is mentioned due to its importance as an effective tool in changing the world if used positively. Spreading knowledge to enlighten the world is mental jihad and everyone can do it in his capacity.
