Special Stitches

Standing stitches: Please follow link for video tutorial.

Invisible join: Please follow link for video tutorial.

2tr cluster: Yo twice, place hook in st/sp to be worked, yo and pull up a loop, 4 loops on
hook, yo and pull through 2 loops twice, 2 loops on hook. Repeat in same st/sp, 3 loops
on hook. Yo and pull through all 3 loops.
Beginning 2tr cluster: Chain 3. Yo twice, insert hook in same st/sp, yo and pull up a
loop, yo and pull through 2 loops 3 times.

Bead stitch: dc in st/sp, (yo, working around the post, yo and pull up a loop) 3 times,
yo and pull through all 7 loops on hook.
To make a Beginning Bead stitch, ch 3 or make a standing dc, and continue as normal.

Sc2tog: Place hook in stitch to be worked, yo and pull up a loop, 2 loops on hook.
Repeat in next st, 3 loops on hook. Yo and pull through all 3 loops.

Tr10tog: Yo twice, place hook in stitch to be worked, yo and pull up a loop, 3 loops on
hook, yo and pull through 2 loops twice, 2 loops on hook.
Repeat in directed sts, 11 loops on hook. Yo and pull through all 11 loops.

Partial tr: Yo twice, place hook in stitch to be worked, yo and pull up a loop, 4 loops on
hook, yo and pull through 2 loops twice, 2 loops on hook.

Hints:
 Where a sl-st join is indicated you will continue the next round with the same
colour.
 Where join and fasten off is indicated I recommend using an Invisible Join.
 Use stitch markers to ensure stitch placement and counts are correct.
 Use stitch markers to identify corner spaces or stitches.
 Keep a relaxed tension with all chains and ensure they are the same size as top
loops of normal stitches. This is to maintain the correct shape in your work.

23. Join with a standing sc in 2nd st of any increase, sc in next 4 sts, [P1]
(skip next 3 sts, in next st (2tr cluster, (ch 1, 2tr cluster) 4 times), skip next 3 sts,
sc in next 10 sts) [P2] 12 times, omit last 5 sc. [P3]
Join to standing sc, fasten off, and secure ends.
Stitch count: 120 sc, 12 shells of 5 2tr clusters and 4 ch-1 spaces each.

24. Join with a standing sc in 8th sc of any repeat, sc in next st, [P1]
(skip next st, fpdc around next st, (bead st in next ch-1 space, fpdc around next st) 4
times, skip next st, sc in next 8 sts) [P2] 12 times, omit last 2 sc. [P3]
Join to standing sc, fasten off, and secure ends.
Stitch count: 96 sc, 12 shells of 5 fpdc and 4 bead sts each.

Hint: each bead st is made up of 2 sts.

25. Join with a standing sc in 4th sc of any repeat, sc in next 2 sts, [P1]
(skip next 2 sts, (dc in next st, fptr round same st, dc in next 2 sts) 4 times,
in next st (dc, fptr, dc), skip next 2 sts, sc in next 4 sts) [P2] 12 times, omit last 3 sc. [P3]
Join to standing sc with a sl-st.
Stitch count: 48 sc, 12 shells of 14 dc and 5 fptr each.

26. Ch 1 and sc2tog over same and next st, [P1]
(skip next st, sc in next 19 sts, skip next st, sc2tog over next 2 sts) [P2] 12 times, omit
last sc2tog. [P3]
Join to 1st sc2tog, fasten off, and secure ends.
Stitch count: 12 sc2tog, 12 shells of 19 sc each.

27. Join with a standing sc in 9th sc of any shell, sc in next 2 sts, [P1]
(2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts, sl-st in next st, ch 3, 2 partial tr in same st, (skip next st,
2 partial tr in next st) 4 times, yarn over and close tr10tog, ch 1 forming “eye”, ch 3, sl-st
in same st as last 2 partial tr,
sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts) [P2] 12 times, omit last 3 sc. [P3]
Join to standing sc with a sl-st.
