The use of chemical pesticides might not be good for plants. Let’s us make a natural

furniture, such as stools, benches and tables. How to make an ecobrick.:
1. Clean or wash the bottle and the plastic waste you are going to use to make an
ecobrick. Make sure they are dry enough so that there are no bacteria.
2. Cut or rip the plastic into small pieces.
3. Fill a bottle with your plastic waste.
4. Add the plastic and compact it alternately.
5. Squeeze the plastic waste into the bottle area with a stick or spoon.
6. Make sure the bottle is totally solid. You can do this by pressing on it from the
outside. When pressed, good, solid ecobrick will not deflate or produce sound.
7. Close the bottle and you’ve made one ecobrick!

The phenomenon of plastic waste disposal in Indonesia is quite worrying.
Nevertheless, the Populix survey found that 75% of Indonesian people actively participate in
waste management programs.
“Our latest report reveals that 75% of Indonesian people have participated in waste
management. This shows that the community already has high awareness and desire to
manage waste,” said Populix Co-Founder and CEO, Timothy Astandu, in a written statement
received by Investor Daily, Sunday (2/7).
According to the data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the total
national waste in 2021 reached 68.5 million tons. As much as 17%, or around 11.6 million
tons of this amount was contributed by plastic waste. There was a increase in the number
from 2010 which was only 11%.
In 2022, the amount of national waste increased again, became 70 million tons. The
waste that had not been managed yet by the Directorate General of PSLB3 (General of
Waste, Toxic and Hazardous Materials Management) is currently around 24% or 16 million
tons.
According to records, of the 69% of waste that goes to landfills, only 7% has been
recycled. When compared with waste that has been managed in Malaysia and Singapore,
Indonesia is still far behind. The amount that has still not well processed reaches 16 million
tons.
“Various initiatives carried out by brands and communities in providing education
and experience for the community have also had a positive impact so that more and more
people understand how to manage their waste,” said Timothy happily.
According to Timothy, the presence of the waste management application also helps
the community distribute waste every week.
