Considering the size or scope of operation that is needed to achieve the objective of selling
$100k CAD, the first thing to consider is its costs. The cost includes the costs of making a single
print which is estimated at $0.50. This cost includes the cost of electricity too.
To achieve the goal of $100k, the idea is to make 5 skateboards with a single print. The
estimated time needed to complete a single print consisting of five skateboards is 5 hours and 16
minutes. The idea is to sell the single printed skateboard product at $10 CAD each.
As such, the estimated profit will be the selling price minus the cost of manufacturing. The
selling price is $10, while the cost of manufacturing is $0.5 per unit which makes the profit $9.5.
As such, to achieve the goal of $100k CAD, it is important to find the number of total
skateboards for which the total profit needs to be divided by the profit made by a single product.
To achieve the goal, approximately 10,527 skateboards are required. However, a single print can
only obtain 5 units for which a total of 2106 prints will be needed which is calculated by 10526 /
5 = 2106
The total time required for a single print is 5 hours and 16 minutes. Thus for 2106 prints total
The best way to manage productivity would be to automate the process, reduce labor force, and
adopt more relevant technology that can reduce total time and enhance the capacity of the print
