INSTITUTIONAL OBJECTIVES
1. Assure its clientele by providing educational programs and quality instruction augmented by
Information and Communication Technology;
2. Conduct researches in relation to activities that promote the attainment of institutional
outcomes as well as cater to the needs of the community and of the industry;
3. Commit to serve the community by implementing sustainable extension and outreach
programs; and
4. Cultivate the engineering, entrepreneurial, technological, and instructional skills of the
students as a railroad towards successful careers and to enhance the plans and programs of the
institution.
A. Course Requirements
● A minimum of 75% attendance is required to qualify each student to write the final
examination.
● Students will be expected to answer the study questions and assignments.
● Students will be expected to be an active participant, preferably working alongside other
students, especially when it comes to analysing text extracts.
● Students are required to attend the Seminar on Taxation and Cooperatives as a final
requirement.
● Each student is expected to participate in all class involvement shown below:
o Class interactions :30%
o Quizzes/Exercises/ Seatwork :20%
o Major exams :40%
o Total :100%
B. Grading System
There shall be four (4) grading periods: Prelim Term Grade (PG), Midterm Grade (MG), Pre-
Final Term Grade (PFG), and Final Term Grade (FG) leading to student’s Final Cumulative
Grade in consonance with the class report of the faculty concerned as follows:
C. COURSE ASSESSMENT
Aside from academic deficiency, other grounds for a failing grade are:
- Grave misconduct and / or cheating during examinations.
- Unexcused absences of more than 20% of required number of meetings per term.
- A failing academic standing and failure to take graded exams.
Expectation from the Student:
The student’s responsibility is to come to each class prepared. S/He is also expected to take al
l examinations on the date scheduled. S/He should read the assigned readings prior to class. S/H
e is expected to attend each class and participate actively in the discussions.
Academic Dishonesty
All students are expected to be academically honest. Cheating, lying and other forms of unethica
l behavior will not be tolerated. Any student fond guilty of cheating in examinations or plagiaris
m in submitted course requirement or in the course. Plagiarism refers to the use of books, notes
or other intellectual property without giving proper attribution to its author, or representing the w
ork of another person as one’s own. Cheating refers to securing help in a test; copying tests, assi
gnments, reports or term papers; collaborating with other students during an examination or in pr
eparing academic work; signing another student’s name on an attendance sheet; or otherwise pra
cticing scholastic dishonesty.
Policy on Absences
The allowed number of absences for students enrolled in a 1 ½ hour class is seven (7) in a whole
semester. Request for excused absences or waiver absences must be presented upon reporting ba
ck to class. Special examinations will be allowed only in special cases, such as prolonged illness
. It is the responsibility of the student to monitor her/his own tardy incidents and absences that m
ight accumulate leading to a grade of “FA. It is also his/her responsibility to consult with the tea
cher, chair or dean should her/his case be of special nature.
● Students missing 75% or more of the classes, regardless of whether their absences are
avoidable or unavoidable, will be considered unable to meet the "learning outcomes" of
the course and will be excluded from the final examination.
● Instructors are under no obligation to re-teach material that has already been taught in a
regularly scheduled class.
