Bridging the Gap: A Study of Hybrid Web Application (Web 2.0 + Web 3.0) and User perspective on it Kanika Mehta Student, Department of Information Technology. B.N.N College, Bhiwandi, (Maharashtra) India Abstract This research proposes a strategic solution to the challenges of transitioning to Web 3.0 technologies. The purpose of this study is to Bridge the gap between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 among Users, This research also presents the user perspective by surveying how they prefer the transition from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0 technology. This research describes the hybrid application as a solution- By offering a hybrid environment with functionalities of Web 2.0 technology alongside giving the option of Web 3.0 technology functionalities in the same app for the same type of component. This solution aims to address user concems regarding learning, understanding, and adapting the Web 3.0 technology Keywords: Web 3.0, Web 2.0, Hybrid App, Integrated Web Application, Technology Transition, User's Perspective. 1. Introduction As the internet evolves towards web 3.0 technology, the challenges of user understanding, learning, and adapting become the limitation. To solve these concerns, the survey explores their interest in a solution centered around the development of a hybrid app that integrates both Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 technologies. The aim is to create an environment where users can seamlessly explore the Web 3.0 functionalities alongside with the familiar Web 2.0 functionalities. Users are presented with the choice of working with centralized and decentralized components, empowering them to navigate toward Web 3.0 technology at their own pace. By understanding the user perspective, the aim is not only to bridge the gap between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 technology but also to give the users an educational and practical experience with Web 3.0 technology PART-I7 Poor Reviewed Referred and UGC Listed Journal No. = 17100 VOLUME - XII, ISSUE - 1- JANUARY - MARCH - 2024 AJANTA - ISSN 2277 - 5730 - IMPACT FACTOR - 7.428 (www.siifactor.com) ccs Web 2.0 Web 2.0 is the second stage of Internet development that involves the evolution from basic, static web pages to increasingly dynamic pages with user-generated content. It is all about reading, writing, creating content, and interacting with another user, This web 2.0 technology is user-centric technology. It is also called a participative social web. The data that is generated by the user is mostly stored in the server which is owned by the major corporations and institutes. Even if the user is the true owner of the data, they are not the true owner of it. Example: the data that is uploaded on YouTube social media by the user, even though the user is the owner of that data, but they aren't because the data is managed by the YouTube corporation, that data can be removed by the YouTube corporation if they don't find valid as per their needs Web 3.0 Web 3.0 is based on the concept of creating a decentralized ecosystem. This technology helps to take control over the own data. The popularity of Web 3.0 is increasing because of key features like security, immutability, transparency, and ownership aspects, Sooner or later, we will completely transition to a Web 3.0 world. 2. Existing System and its Problems The limitation of Web 2.0 technology of security, is that ownership of the data is secured by Web 3.0. But, the Existing system of web 3.0-based technology platforms or apps like Minds(social media app), Steemit (social media app), OpenSea (NFT marketplace), ete have problems of people having limited awareness and understanding which leads them to hesitancy and resistance in adoption. To transition in the web 3.0 technology involves the learning of blockchain and decentralized concepts which seem complex to people. Many people also lack familiarity with decentralized features like blockchain-based payment methods, decentralized profiles, ete which leads them not to engage in the web 3.0-based app 3. Proposed System as a Solution The Proposed System involves the hybrid approach, where integrating both Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 technologies within a single application, By offering a hybrid environment with functionalities of Web 2.0 technology alongside giving the option of Web 3.0 technology functionalities in the same app for the same type of component. Integrating payment technologies of traditional web 2.0 payment methods (for example: Paytm, Google Pay, etc) with also option of web 3.0 payment methods (for example: Using cryptocurrency like bitcoin, Ethereum, etc) to offer a diverse range of choices for transactions. This can help users to be aware of Web 3.0 technology payment methods. 2. Providing the user with the option of making a centralized user profile and also the option of making a decentralized user profile can make them curious to explore Web 3.0 concepts, 3. Allowing users to sell digital products like artworks, videos like animation & short films, music tracks, e-books, virtual tickets, educational courses, certificates, etc to sell in both centralized and decentralized manner emphasizing the benefits of decentralization of ownership. security, authenticity, and transparency, This will encourage the user to explore the Web 3.0 concepts. 4. Many more concepts can be applied like supply chain management through centralized and decentralized manner, ete 3.2 Implementation strategy 1 This strategy of having a hybrid model where implementing the components incrementally will allow users to adapt gradually to the Web 3.0 technology 2. Providing the user — guidance by experts, educational content, practical videos, tips, ete within the app to help users understand the concepts and benefits of web 3.0 components, Conducting the user feedback on the challenges they are facing by using the web 3.0 components and then using the insights to improve the user experience or making it more user-centric by helping them. 4. Have you heard about Web 3.0 (blockchain ) technology’? This question aimed to assess the familiarity and awareness of people with blockchain technology. This question gives insight into respondents whether they have ever encountered or possess knowledge about web3.0 technology In which you will find it easier to explore the Web 3.0 (Blockchain) technology? This question aimed to see the user preferences and their ease of exploration regarding web 3.0 technology: This question provides insight into whether respondents find it more convenient or easier to explore Web 3.0 technology in an integrated app(Web 2.0 + Web 3.0) or prefer a separate Web 3.0 app. The purpose of this question is to inquire about user preference regarding web 3.0 technology adoption, In which "your parents" will find easier to explore the Web 3.0 (Blockchain) technology? This question aimed to see the preferences and their ease of adoption and exploration regarding web 3.0 technology among the users of the Older Generation specifically Parents. This question gives insight into whether the respondent's parents will find it more convenient to explore Web 3.0 technology in an integrated app(Web 2.0 + Web 3.0) or prefer a separate Web 3.0 app. By finding out their preferences the goal is to provide more user-friendly experiences and interfaces, for them to adopt the web3.0 technology If new app is introduced in the market, what payment option would you prefer to have on that app?
